NoteIf you're interested in reserving a spot in the first run, please check here: kyaa.co/product/2auto-atmega4809-pre-orderBlasted chip shortage. ================================================= Here's my latest modules; 2Auto! It's a bit hard to classify, but so far I've been calling it a 'Dual Looping Complex Envelope Generator'. It could also be viewed as some sort of CV recorder. The central part of each section is a touch-sensitive potentiometer. When you grab the knob, it starts recording it's position. When you let go, what was just recorded will start looping at the output. The max recording length is 30 seconds, but that can be extended at the cost of fidelity. There are also a few setting switches. If sync is enabled, the loop will sync to the external clock (so the loop doesn't drift out of time; works with tempo change as well). If the loop mode is disabled, the recording won't play back automatically, but can be triggered with the button on the facepanel, or an external signal instead. If lock is enabled, the current recording can't be changed. Lastly, there are also two trigger outputs that will pulse whenever the env/loop cycles. Good for daisy chaining and timing. And that's pretty much it! So far it's been a wildly flexible/fun module, so I can't wait to get it into production! Currently I'm waiting on a backorder of chips so I can start... ETA seems to be 2 or 3 months at the moment. admin has a module now though, so a video should come out sooner or later to ease the waiting pain. Attachments:

No idea, but if it's even half as good as your last release it'll be a must have!

"2Auto"... interesting name. Is it a pair of motorized pots? Like big knobs with outputs from position, but also inputs *to* the position which turn them for you?
That might explain the big through-board mounting points...

2x Autechre- Type Oscillator, a dual complex osc which sounds really weird and just has massive dials for the sheer hell of it (better for finding when playing live in the dark?)

I'm starting to think y'all should be the ones coming up with the module designs. π

All this talk of motorised pots has got me thinking of the Field Kit and its DC interface for using control voltage to drive little motors and buzzers and whatnot. Combined with a dedicated contact mic input, could be a nice way to bring some electro-acoustic sounds into AE land. A lot of the recent big module releases have been pretty firmly in the digital realm...

Is it an electronic version of two car horns (the squidgy types) ?

I legit might. I'm sort of planning a sequencer to try and build once my system arrives.

This is a very fascinating module, will 2auto be able to retain recorded loops after you power down the system?

Wow so recording begins based on touch, not movement? I honestly didn't even know touch-sensitive pots were a thing!

By the sounds of it this is going to be the most exciting module coming out. Being able to find that spot while playing around and 'save it' to repeat and loop with the clock is pretty amazing. If it can save after power down even more so.

Yeah maybe this idea already exists in the depths of eurorack but it's not a concept i've encountered before. Really interesting idea which would add a lot of playability to people's racks.

Yes, save on power off is indeed going to be a feature. I'm of the opinion that a patch should always be able to be 'saved' in place, so that will always be a feature on my modules. π
