Wow so recording begins based on touch, not movement? I honestly didn't even know touch-sensitive pots were a thing! I was inspired by some of my Novation gear. It's the same circuitry as capacitive touch-pads, but if you tune the sensitivity high enough the 'touch' can even be detected through the plastic knob caps.

Yeah maybe this idea already exists in the depths of eurorack but it's not a concept i've encountered before. Really interesting idea which would add a lot of playability to people's racks. Not to my knowledge, no. It's something I've always wanted, even when I was into eurorack DIY. I may have to consider making it available as a eurorack module as well... hmmm... π€ AE will always be the priority though. π

ooh! EOC daisy chaining :] could you give details about how you extend the 30 seconds via lower resolution?
i'm crossing everything that the chips arrive sooner in the schedule.

could you give details about how you extend the 30 seconds via lower resolution? The base sampling frequency is ~60hz. There's enough ram allocated for 30 seconds at that rate. If the recording continues beyond that, the sampling freq will be halved (30hz, 15hz, etc...), and the max length will double (1min, 2min, etc...). The reduced fidelity should be sufficient for longer ambient type stuff. i'm crossing everything that the chips arrive sooner in the schedule. I'd unfortunately imagine later is more likely. π The chips _are_ currently available, just at a hiked price. I have them on backorder for $1.65 a pop, but could get them today for $11.50 each. If people don't want to wait and are willing to pay $10 more or so, I could theoretically get them out sooner. I do still have a few more code and hardware changes to make though, would take me a little bit of time to iron out.

$10 more you say... $10 more than what? (ballpark) Err... nothing is finalized yet but I'd imagine $60 normal, and $70 with the quarantine chips.

I'm starting to think y'all should be the ones coming up with the module designs. π
I legit might. I'm sort of planning a sequencer to try and build once my system arrives. Also, yeeessss, do it! Pretty much any of the module makers (myself included) would be willing to help out to if you have any questions.

Sounds like I could probably do an initial run of 5 to 10 units then. π

I didn't know either, and tbh its really some amazing hack-y work by the master Kyaa. I tried it at Superbooth, and its insane how good it works, really the smallest touch starts recording it, and yet it does never trigger randomly!

I'm fine with paying in advance, because if the chips get so expensive the cash you have to invest can get painful..

I like this. The chips are available through my SMT assembler, so I'd actually be able to reserve the chips at the current price. I'll make a listing on my site and report back.

Wow, this sounds cool and useful. If Iβm understanding the concept correctly, it reminds of the Yamaha βfree EGβ that they had on the DX200. You could draw an extended kind of free form env generator. I definitely need a few of these. But Iβm willing to wait for the full scale production with everything rock solid and tiptop (and a bit cheaper). Keep up the good work :-)
