Just arrived... Gonna have more voices and a new filter to play with! <button disabled="" class="c-attachment-insert--linked o-btn--sm">Attachment Deleted</button> Bet the Kuzmin will sound excellent operated from the big knob, It does! Completely different character from the Nyle filter I've been using so far. Most of it is pretty straight forward but I haven't figured out how to use the FM switch... anybody want to fill me in?

The FM switch adds some of the main input signal to the modulation of the cutoff point, so louder/higher sounds will open the filter more is my understanding - experiment!

So, just got my first case and a couple of modules. And starting on my journey.
Made an "unbagging" video to talk about my plans for it.
Plus a first experiment hooking up my Bastl Kastle.
Seems like it's gonna be fun.
Thanks to everyone involved in AE Modular.

Welcome, coming at the AE from a really interesting angle, and look forward to more videos of your journey. You may find the DIY and programming sections of the forum useful:-
and the Wiki may be helpful too:-
Just in case you are unaware, Juno are the UK Stockists of AE, but not the whole range (not even close), bit more expensive but handy if you want quickly....
On a slightly different note, I had very little soldering experience and have (successfully) built several modules for the AE from kits now, as you mention 5V, less risk etc!

Config isn't quite there yet, and I imagine quite a bit of further refining when the u modules launch, but here's my all black (plus one green) celebration!

Here we go then - pre miniature modules config one, which possibly won't last long depending on how well I get by without a couple of bits, the most anxiety inducing being a sample and hold. If I can't get it right I'll probably switch out an algodrone for s&h and either rbss or quantiser. And D'oh at not order a black panel for my drumkit - it was broken at the time but I've since repaired it, yay! (Boo!)

Yeah I got this from Juno. They seem pretty good. But I wish they had more of the modules in stock. Somehow it feels like most of what they have are the obscure ones that other people didn't buy.
My next purchases of official modules I was thinking would be the Modulators (lfo + env) + XMix. Which seems like a nice compact combination of utilities. But I guess I'll need to get them direct from Tangible.

I think that's the case with Juno, they get a huge order from Robert once in a while, and it's been ages since the last one, so they're running down stock atm. Hence the discounts on some stuff too. They are good though, and their turnaround is amazingly fast, i've ordered late in the afternoon sometimes and received it the very next morning!
Of course, there are also options from the 3rd party sellers, especially if you're not afraid of a bit of soldering, Wonkystuff are UK based for example and have a decent size range of really interesting modules!
Keurslager Kurt ships from Belgium and takes about 12 days to get through to the UK. And Kyaa ships from the US, probably about the same lead time as shipping from Belgium (that's post-Brexit Britain for you). Only one available module at the moment but it's a doozy!

I have done several orders direct from TW since Brexit, no issues at all but I have stayed well below the £130 threshold for the taxman to get interested..... Current wait times for despatch are 4/5 weeks (that's how long I've been waiitng now!), the website usually gives an idea, and usually takes about a week to get here once dispatched. I recomend the modulators in particular, I have the Xmix but haven't used it as much - yet......

Cool. I'll go to TW then.
I've made a promise to myself that I can only buy new modules after I've made new videos, so I guess I need to crack on with the next video so I can put an order in :-)

Sure I've missed a couple of orders, (e.g my Mixconsole ), but here's my latest:-
-
Have all the AE filters except the MS20 now; I haven't bought that one as have the real thing, and even connected it to the AE once or twice
The Kuzmin has real character, like it even more "in the flesh" thna I did from youtube videos.

Finally! My AE system arrived!
Out of the box.
Disassembled to add Wonkystuff modules & rearrange.
Assembled!
Powered on and patching!
So yeah, it's great fun. In the months since this order, I've already started planning another one....
I need a bigger case, 3CVSWITCH, SLEW/EDGE, another filter (probably the acid one), and an FMOS or two (but they're out of stock). Oh, and about 50% more patch cables.
It also needs five different weird sequencers, but I'm going to build those myself.

I have my original 2-row case from the Starter Rack 2, but also a pair of single row cases like you have -- I find that I use the single row cases more often as they're much more convenient to take to gigs, as well as allowing me to focus a bit better because otherwise there are just too many possibilities!! Hope you have fun

Latest order arrived! Four filters for the four voices of my custom AE Modular polyphonic keyboard synthesizer. Next I think I'll need some more envelopes. Am very much appreciating how compact and inexpensive Tangible Waves modules are.

Just got my 3rd order, trying to complete a 12x2 case, and it's the big one! TBD, MultiFX, and O+C and more. Thanks Tangible Waves for this fun and compact format! I placed my orders by 5/3 and started receiving them on 8/7. My orders are now completed. Now time to make a new one haha. Digging the all-black design.

Just recieved the Wavetables modules to increase my sonic possibilties without going down the programmable modules route. First impressions are excellent, love the CV control of the "wavetabling" so you can get lots of sonic movement even before you start filtering etc. More wavetables would be nice but this isn't a 100s or 1000s of pounds/dollars/Euros synthesiser! Highly recommended,

My newest "new stuff" is a nice little drone-machine which consists of a DRONE38, a DRONX and a MULTIFX What's special about this is that I was able to pick up my new modules at the Tangible Waves office in Murnau. Murnau is a town in the Oberbayern region of Bavaria. I've been on vacation here every year in September for over 20 years. Last year I found out about Tangible Waves and AEmodular from a blog article on the internet. Coincidentally, I was in Murnau when I found the blog article last year. I contacted Robert and he invited me to his office. This year I visited him again and picked up my new modules Thank you, robertlanger and Antonia!
