something went wrong in your post. What? The fact that no picture is shown? I checked both on my phone and on computer. The picture is shown on both? It's a link to Instagram picture. I don't know I see it even if I'm not log...

Sneaky pre-Christmas single module order which is more 'practical' than 'thrilling': a POWER to put in my single-row. Now i can use this stand-alone, i'm thinking about how to most efficiently make it function as a compact audio mangler / effect for external audio / ambient box, and what i want to relocate into it from my main rack.
Here's what's available in the big rack:
VMBRIDGE saves loads of space in 1 row by providing access to: a decent complex osc, 2x LPG, envelope, stepped and smooth random, some basic clock division & logic, and sequencing. Pretty handy!
- As much as i love BioT, i probably don't need 2 in one small rack...
- RBSS feels like it would be good in here, but i don't know whether to move the one i have or get a 2nd!
- Will probably move QVCA into the small rack
- 2SIGNALAMP is a contender too, for amplifying incoming audio
- Kurt's Sloth clone will definitely have a place in here when i pick one up
That would leave one slot open...any suggestions what might work well in there? TBH a second 4I/O is a possibility...

dizzeesatchel good idea with the vmbridge. adds loads. My first thought was the 2signalamp if processing incoming audio. I know its not on there but could a moco mixer be an option in the future, goes really well with the qvca too.

Not a bad idea! I think i need to understand the MOCO more I was pleasantly surprised with it. Best bit I like is that using the rbss it can randomly move through/change the audio mix and inverts as well.

RBSS feels like it would be good in here, but i don't know whether to move the one i have or get a 2nd! The core.ae has an rbss firmware now too. It could be a flexible alternative.

IMG_0314.HEIC (1.68 MB) IMG_0350.HEIC (1.72 MB) I want to send a huge shoutout to Noisebug. I sent in some of my Eurorack and they helped me perform some modular format alchemy. Great service, would highly recommend to other folks in the US. I had a big order recently (another 2x16 case, plus lots of modules). I finally assembled my Sloth and Quad Boost kits from keurslagerkurt , and also mounted the Five Steps. Also recently picked up the Flavorwave patchwire hangers, and now my setup is looking much cleaner. Another order from Noisebug is inbound with the MultiFX among other modules.

I have a module! Here it is... that little thing at the very end... There are more coming but I needed one to start with to make sure I have all the dimensions right. While I wait for actually functional modules to arrive I'm trying to make a CEM3340 speak.

chuck Like a DIY Moog Matriarch! 😃 That actually looks really cool. I've always been intrigued by these hardware hacked old organs. Like circuit bending is one thing, but this is def a next level beyond that!

Like circuit bending is one thing, but this is def a next level beyond that! That is exactly what I had in mind-- I've watched a fair number of videos now of people twiddling dials on the Matriarch and though I could go buy one I think building one would be more interesting. The concept and the execution don't always match up, but the fun is in the attempt, right?

Going into diy must be for fun, because any ideas of 'it will be cheaper' usually turn out to not be the case 😅 i learned so much doing DIY, and one of the things I learned is 'more respect for the engineers and the insane amount of design choices they make'. Also, for the price of a grandmother you'd have two AE starter racks 2 + a keyboard like an arturia Keystep. Doesn't look as fancy and maybe (?) sounds a bit different, but i'd sign up for the AE version personally 😃

When I was seriously considering Eurorack I was going to buy the Waldorf case/keyboard in one to do this without having to build/solder anything! Thankfully for my wallet I found the AE, but hadn't though about putting it in a keyboard case; maybe reason for a whole separate system. um........

So many black panels! I love it, the SEQ8 & 16 look especially tight. I already ordered a small selection of new front-panels, maybe i'll end up going all the way too.

That's really nice looking system. Would love to go all black but kinda huge investment for a 4x20 full case...

Honestly the biggest thing putting me off is not the cost but the effort of removing all the new-style knobs to get the front panels off!

The blacks panels looks incredible! It make the whole system looks more "pro" (just the look, as we all know how great it is)

I gave them a call a few weeks back with a question, and they were extremely detailed and helpful throughout. Boutique outfits seem to put an emphasis on hiring passionate and skilled individuals.

The current state. It's going to expand a bit when some orders arrive, but otherwise this will be it until cirrus is available again.
