Okay, got it installed! It was pretty smooth except for that one teensy little component. I got that done too but it involved a jeweler's loupe and holding my breath.
One thing to note for future installers is that while it might look like the half-holes are copper-coated, they are not. They're tinned, and the copper inside them is leftover drill swarf. Get in there with the tip of an xacto knife and get it out of there or you might run into issues. Once you do that it's not difficult (aside from the tiny little part, and even that's not bad if you take your time and look REALLY closely and check continuity between the solder joint and the electrolytic cap north of it).

Done! I think the hardest part was getting the front panel off No desoldering required here, it fit nice and flat on the main board from the get go.
