Here is another one. The first part is my tribute to all those brave Germans who dared "to boldly go where no man has gone before" with their kosmische musik in the early 70ies. Klaus Schulze "Irrlicht", Tangerine Dream "Zeit", Cluster "Cluster", Popol Vuh "Affenstunde" are the first examples coming to mind. It starts with Neutron (0:00), Monologue (0:49) and Volca Sample (1:20). At 2:15 it starts to evolve into the second part with AEM coming in. The transition is complete with Kicks/Beats (3:01). AEM adds its filtered noise at 3:26 to make the soup more dense and FM comes with bass lines at 3:46 to increase the tension.

As this is my 250th post on the forum , I'm going to celebrate with a pointer to my own homage to Manuel. Here's a link to something I did in 1999. I can't believe it's 20 years ago, almost to the day, when this came out. If you scroll down a bit here, you'll find my review of "E2-E4", written for SynthMusic Direct (the one that starts, " This album consists of one solo track..."). Yes, I really am a fanboy... even seen him (and met him) at Berghain in Berlin for the 25th anniversay of that album. Seen him a few more times in Berlin since as well. Shutting up now... EDIT: As a special bonus for AE Modular people, I just made that track free (pay what you want) as it brought back many memories.

spacedog thank You for appreciating my tracks. It's always nice to find a fellow musical traveler. By the way, very nice review of E2-E4! Here You may find more about my musical mining activity. And congratulations on Your new rank. With all these stars You look like a commander To celebrate Your promotion I've found for You a small review of one of Your band's effort. It's in polish. It seems the record doesn't involve You, but the whole band is described here as the new Berlin school classics and treated with much reverence - it is a position You've, with no doubt, helped to achive, so I think You should know Your fame has reached my country too

Many thanks, arti, I enjoyed looking back through six years of your tumblr account - it really was like looking at my own record collection . Having seen this selection of your records, I can better understand your influences, which is always fun. That Kubusschnitt album is the only one that I wasn't on, although, having said that, three of us are working on new material right now so it will soon not be the last album.

In my part of the World there is very hot right now so I've deceided to put out something light and refreshing, hence the title: A little light music. It's inspired by simple and light mood of Harmonia "Deluxe" and Michael Rother albums. While making patches on AEM in one of those happy accidents I've created great castanetes-like rhythm - a very pleasant surprise for me and I think it's good addition to the overall light mood of the piece. 00:00 AEM two voices ("jaw harp" and "castanetes") 00:06 Monologue 00:35 Volca Kick 00:41 Volca Sample 00:59 AEM (higher tones - it's former "jaw harp" voice) 00:59 Neutron (lower tones). Pitches of both synths are controled by SQ1 sequencer CV-A: Neutron, CV-B: AEM 01:26 AEM third voice (very high tones on the verge of audio range) with pitch controlled by SQ1 as well 02:00 Volca FM 02:23 Volca Beats (low kick)

OK, so all of my dances are funny and it had a feeling of getting more and more out of control as I neared the end. I am not sure if it was because I am not logged into a tumblr account, but I had very little control of the track (i.e. I could only play it or pause it), also there seemed to be no indication of duration.

spacedog by clicking on the soundbar you should be able to move within the track also Aha, I'm gifted at operating tumblr as well as dancing. In honour of my dodgy dancing I did something crazy just now with a remix of one of my early tracks that I had been working on, enjoy the dancing

Now it's time for Electronic rite. The title comes from the quasi-choir sound (on volca sample) and it's solemn mood, which was inspired by Popol Vuh's Aguire soundtrack with mellotron-like instrument with choir voices recorded on tape. Dawless, recorded in one take. 00:00 AEModular (several voices) 00:32 Behringer Neutron 00:52 Volca Kick 01:05 Volca sample 01:32 Volca Beats 02:21 Volca FM 03:05 Korg Monologue Additional equipment: Korg SQ1 (to control Neutron) , Behringer Xenyx 1202FX (for mixing and FX) , Zoom R8 (for mastering and recording)

Wow, this is a great track with a really catchy bassline and so many interesting glitches and twangs and clinks going on. I love it. There's also a very nice groove to it.

here's the link to my latest track Prepare for the worst. With my track You’ll be prepared, it’s ominous mood introduces all the worst things to come, so feel free to use it as a soundtrack in the emergency moments of impending doom The whole track is driven mainly by AEM, Volca Sample and Volca Kick. Other synths provided mainly stabs, hits and ornaments to enchance the effect. 00:00 - AEM two voices (noise sweeps and osc1) 00:39 - AEM third voice occasionaly hit by lfo to get tremolo-like effect (thanx to 3CV switch) 1:06- Volca Kick 1:19/1:28 - Volca Sample 1:40 - Monologue 1:53 - Volca Beats 2:06 - Neutron 2:57 - Volca FM Additional equipment: Korg SQ1, BEhringer Xenyx 1202FX, Zoom R8

AEModular is such a wonderful device! We all know it, but it strikes me on a regular basis nevertheless It has so many beautiful sounds in it! With a child-like amazement I also admire it's ability to do so many things simultaneously Shelter for the abused electronics - this whole track is made entirely live on my AEM with no overdubs and no other synths involved. Amazing soundscapes at the begining were created with the osc and noise filtered by the Nyle filter and spiced with it's resonance - the main thing is to put it into Delay mysterious IN2 input. I use it not so often but I think it will change from now on - so many interesting sounds were hiding there <3 I used external keyboard for one of the AEM oscs, which I also usualy don't do, but it was fun, so probably will try it more often too. Additional equipment: Yamaha PSS-480 as external midi keyboard Behringer Xenyx 1202FX for mixing and additional reverb Zoom R8 for recording Enjoy!

Continuing the exploration of Delay module's additional inputs and external keyboard led to AEModular playground - new track made on AEM with the addition of Neutron's Delay, LFO and Attenuator which I run out on my 2rack. Thankfuly 4I/O module saved the day No overdubs, all played live as usual. I've said it already but it never stops to amaze me how versatile and rich in possibilities this modular system is

Now it's time for the big question - AE Modular is all fine and dandy but is it capable of doing breakcore stuff? Well, as far as I'm concerned the answer is yes, but You don't have to believe me, check it for yourself in my latest awsome track: Gentle break 0:00 It starts with Neutron 0:19 soon Volca Sample joins in with the one mistreated trumpet sample 1:13 AEM fractured melody track fades in, at 1:33 starts AEM (a)rhythmical mayhem - hell yeah! The crucial modules were Logic and 3VCSWITCH, with some help from good old STEP10 and Beat divider 1:46 Volca sample joins again 3:44 Volca FM leads the track to it’s conclusion My point of reference was Aphex Twin’s brilliant album "Druqs" with it's mixture of gentle interludes and harsh rhythmic parts. Ive tried to combine those two elements in one track which led to the intro/outro structure

Whistleblower00:00 Neutron (whistling sound is VCF resonance, bass are oscs - both sound sources receive voltages from SQ1 sequencer) 00:06 AEM first voice - just drops here and there to start the track 00:16 AEM second voice 00:36 AEM third voice 01:06 AEM fourth voice (noise based percussion) 01:27 Volca Sample 02:28 AEM fifth voice - odd and malignant melody which reminds me children mocking someone 4:43 Only first four AEM voices left. So this moment is solo AEM performance, which slowly degenerates by eliminating some voices and deconstructing the structure by rising amount of randomness sent into Delay’s cv input No overdubs Behringer Xenyx1202FX for mixing and FX Zoom R8 for recording and mastering Enjoy!

What could be a better way to commemorate the one year anniversary of our forum than make the new track with the AEM only. It's short but i like it's mood, the palette of sounds and wide spectrum of events taking place simultaneously on our beloved AEM 0:00 It starts with the drone-like voice distorted by Wavefolder module with the rhythmical clicks achived by syncing the droning osc with the beat divider output , which is a nice way to have some percussion untill I'll have new set of drum modules 0:14 noise filtered by Wasp and Nyle adds some sweeps to the rhythmic pattern 0:28 the melody comes in carried by second osc fed by SEQ16 sequencer 0:53 bas sequence (another osc with attenuated cv from seq16 for pitch and inverted envelope controlled by STEP10 for gates - the same env, not inverted controlls the noise channel) 1:32 melodic/rhytmic ornament from yet another osc filtered by Nyle and controled by random CV fed into its vca Behringer Xenyx1202 for mixing and some additional reverb ZoomR8 for recording and mastering
