One thread to collect them all Since I play my synths a lot and sometimes something interesting comes out, I will post it here. All the entries will include AE Modular, but most often combined with my other gear. So You may check how AEM behaves in a musical environment. In my opinion it has great musical capabilities and is the center of my rig, providing sound and clocks with perfect synchronisation. I try to integrate it even deeper with 4I/O module to interchange audio or voltages among AEM and Neutron or SQ1 - the possibilities are amazing. All my entries are DAWless live sessions, no layered tracks. To open this thread I'll use my latest piece of music. It's called Organic machine as the whole rig it was made on seemed to live and develop on its own once set in motion. My role after programing all the sounds and sequencers was to pull the triggers for the automated things to happen and admire Enjoy

arti I love this piece, it's so musical and varied. It's great to listen to it deeply and trying to discern which instrument makes which sound. It's a bit dangerous because it does trigger a bit of G.A.S. for a Neutron

It's a bit dangerous because it does trigger a bit of G.A.S. for a Neutron The Neutron is an excellent machine, and of course completely patchable with the AE via the 4 I/O. I just got the latter with my last order. I'm having a studio hiatus then my Neutron, AE & Minibrute 2 are having a get together...

Another one from me. Working on a Backwards Challenge I've accidently found some cool sounds and during the process I've abbandoned the backward idea in favour of some Techno It's AEM with Neutron only so rather sparse (gear-wise) according to my usual standards. Two VCOs voices from AEM providing melodies and rhytmic pattern. Plus one of oscs from 2OSC module was send to Neutron filter and received CV information from SQ1 sequencer via midi. Neutron Filter was modulated by Neutron's own LFO, and it's shape changes were synchronised and triggered with AEM LFO via 4I/O module. This voice sounds beautifuly crazy - it starts at 1:43 So, to make a long story short: all the sounds were from AEM vcos/osc, Neutron was used as an elaborated filter station for one of AEM osc controled by SQ1 cv Dawless live jam as usual

Well, what can I say I just love to play almost everyday (and to rhyme from time to time) Some nice sounds there, arti, some fast 'n' furious Could you run through what's doing what, just for the curious...? Hey, look at me, basking in that glow Some days, I yearn to be a rhyming pro What next... Haiku Patch Descriptions...? Now that's an idea...

Some nice sounds there, arti , some fast 'n' furious Could you run through what's doing what, just for the curious...? Hey, look at me, basking in that glow Some days, I yearn to be a rhyming pro What next... Haiku Patch Descriptions...? Now that's an idea... Haha, Haiku Module maybe robertlanger ? Here's what's going on: It starts with Neutron filter (Neutron oscs were off by putting dummy cable in VCF IN to break prewired connection of the filter with VCOs and just VCF1 output put into VCA in). Neutron recieves the gate signal from SQ1 sequencer via midi with some gates set to off. The filter frequency is modulated by SEQ16 accents output. It makes pitch of the filter go higher in (ir)regular intervals - whenever the SEQ16 accent allign with the SQ1 gate open. At 00:09 comes the Volca FM, at first occasionaly, then the whole sequence (later transposed two octaves higher). When the tranposition starts (00:47) Kick and Beats join the party plus Volca Sample(with flute, udu/tabla drum and some other unindentified samples). 00:54- sweeps from Monologe fill the background space 1:20 - all dies out with only Neutron filter and Volca sample holding the ground 1:26 here comes the reinforcement from AEM (finaly) and its melody adorned with Nyle resonance (high bell-like tones) at 2:14 Kick/Beats combo comes back and Monologue sweeps appear occasionaly At 2:42 AEM melody starts to gradualy slightly double itself it's achieved by peculiar combination: AEM VCO three different waves were sent into various destinations - saw nad triangle went into Nyle, and square went into Wasp, and then into VCA in2. Out2 went into Nyle also, and the Nyle's out went into VCA in1 Now: the VCA CV1 was connected with the envelope receiving it's gate signal from LFO and the SEQ16 accents The same but inverted ENV controled CV2 signal. Opening the cv2 knob on the VCA kinda doubles the melody Bell-like CVResonance of the Nyle filter received pulses from LFO but via Beat Divider OUT B set to triplets and then STEP10 with some steps set to off and it's TRIG ouput signal beeing attenuated

Ominous sounds by the AEM in the center of things. VCO receives voltages controlling it's pitch from SEQ16, the other (one of 2OSC) shares the gate with Neutron (via SQ1 midi and Neuton MIDI through output) and it's pitch is controlled by LFO and it's PWM by second osc of 2OSC module. Good to have the possibility to connect second independent sequencer to control AEM! And simultaneously to control it's tempo with one of AEM LFOs. Nyle's resonance and Spring Reverb give some spices to the sound. Some samples added by Volca Sample, flute-like melody by Volca FM. Kick and Beats (with the stutter) do their thing too. Check it out, if You want to hear what I fear

Electricity Surges pregnant with meaning Wires' poetry AEM comes in at 1:49 - no osc, just Nyle filter ressonance shaped with SEQ16 cvs and gate via envelope and further processed by Wasp Filter. Nyle has great possibilities, You can play nice melody with ease and the sound is very cool. I also like Neutron. It starts at 0:21 (triggered by AEM's step10 plus some gates set to slide on SQ1) - it's lfo shape was moduleated by S&H which results in very cool dynamics - the sounds diverse from long development to short, sometimes abrupt notes which reminds me playing the saxophone All my usual gear is also present Volca FM - gentle bell/glass-like tones at 0:48 Monologue - comes in at 3:16 Kick - simple pattern, pulse-like starts the track Sample comes in right at the begining at 0:06 Beat - just one bell from time to time - for the first time it can be heard at 0:13-0:14

AEM comes a bit late(around 2:50) despite it was composed as the very first part of this track. It's heavy deleyed/reverbered sequence by wonderful Delay Module combined by Spring Reverb and digital reverb from Behringer Mixer. I realy like it's vibrating, multilayered sound. AEM's LFO also produces separate clocks - one runs through Beat Divider and Step10 to Neutron via SQ1 and the other (just through Beat Divider) to Monologue & Volcas.

I like how versatile AEM is - I can have several different sounding voices at once with different timings. Here I've created a piper and piano-like sounds with addition of low drone-like wave. AEM leads the track single-handed untill 0:40 and all it's three voices are used here. Later come the other synths.

Wow, I love this song .. a really catchy lead and great accompanying by a few other synths and drums. How do you get it to play at different timings? Do you use the Divider for this?

Thanx admin. I don't have Divider (yet) so I mostly use invertred envelopes, Beat Divider often combined with Step10, frequences when the osc is partialy mute, LFOs with different rates, accents from STEP16 as triggers. Sometimes I use gate cv output from SQ1 as a trigger for AEM envelope, when some gates are turned off. Those ideas are used within AEM timing and also as a way to send synced (but different) timings out. If I like to differ timings even more I use internal dividers within Monologue. SQ1, Kick or FM. So there is plenty ways to mess with the clocks still staying in sync. Nevertheless I have a plan to obtain the Divider as it can be used for sound signals. I'm curious what it can do with it

This one is inspired by Cluster's "Zuckerzeit" album in it's simple patterns and clarity. And it's a bit more upbit than my previous entries which also corresponds to abovementioned album. AEM presence is kinda sparse (only one voice) but prominent - very tasty bas sequence starting at 0:30

I have been re-discovering Michael Rother recently via his boxed set, so this was a most welcome track.

Some glitchy trance. AEM starts the show, with high tones and bass. These higher sounds would double the bass sequence but thanks to pulsewidth knob seting only few of the notes can be heard which makes nice variation, I've used this "trick" several times before - great option! Soon my drum machines come in (0:15) and one more AEM voice - little eerie melody 0:26 followed by Volca sample. Then at 0:47 after a small introduction by Monologue all the glitchy hell of Neutron breaks loose with FM joining as the last one of the pack with its glassy sounds at 1:20 Since 6:50 only AEM stays to lead the track to it's end with the very final one note from Monologue. I'm amazed (again) that all those sounds can be simultaneously played on one synth No DAW, no overdubs hardware only - as usual

Hi arti, I'm so happy to be "coming back" from Superbooth and to see that the forum hasn't stopped or slept ... but that there is awesome content added to it .. just like your new song! You really have a knack to fit all your different synths into the mix which find a constant source of inspiration! Again this song is driving ... I think of a car chase in "Mission Impossible" or something like it.

This time something kinda funky. All synths onboard, dawless, one take. Please use headphones or proper speakers 0:00 AEM (first voice) i like it's plucky/abstract sound 0:20 Neutron 0:31 Volca Kick 0:44 AEM (second voice) tasty, a bit acidic bass 0:57 Volca Beats 1:21 Volca Sample 1:44 Monologue 2:32 Volca FM (self-made patch I've called Boink, which I like for it's spacey/organic/a bit chaotic sound) 5:40 AEM (third voice) - snare like sound based on digital noise
