Great track and setup! I really liked your previous live performance (the one with the guitar player projection) so was happy to see another upload.

Thank you Malibu Interface for sharing this beautiful track with us! For everyone who's new to the forum, Olivier was one of the very first to post incredibly musical tracks of the AE Modular back in 2018 and in fact his two videos made me want an AE Modular and that's when I called Robert and proposed to him to start this forum. So this forum is in part thanks to the amazing soundscapes that Olivier made. If you would like to know a bit more about him and his studio evolution, please read the Artist Spotlight which we featured a while back here: forum.aemodular.com/thread/85/content-spotlight-october-olivier-caillet

It is a pleasure. The AE Modular is a really great creation tool and it can be a full part of a setup. I tried to encourage people to use it in Switzerland but without a lot of success unfortunately.

I am happy you like it. It is still a work in progress because exploring the 3D sound is full of surprises, much more than I expected. Many thanks !

Impressive studio, and even more than that: impressive how you make it all come together and sound like one huge instrument!

Lovely piece, well done. Be interested to hear more about the 4 channel mix, appears to make the stereo recording more "reverby"/spacious without drowning the individual sounds which is great. Is it related to Binaural recording? Only ask because of the head thing at the end of the video!

Is it related to Binaural recording? Only ask because of the head thing at the end of the video! exactly, it does have great stereo depth , i certainly would love to know more about the roland conversion system,, iโve had one or two things i did myself in 5.1 surround converted to binaural .. but it didn't sound the same as this , possibly because it was more subtle sfx and real world recordings? i guess iโll have to google this roland rss-10 and see what thatโs about?

I guess I don't know exactly how the tech works, but how cool would it be to create a virtual room where the sound sources line up with where the instruments are in real life. Then if you set up some kind of head tracking you'd get a literal choir of synths.

Is this what they called quadraphonic back in the 1960/70s? I know the west-coast guys loved moving the sound around in space. I wish I had a surround sound system to truly hear and experience it.
What I love the most about this is how AE Modular fit into a an already big setup.
