Had my first one hour session with Cirrus today, feels like i'm only scratching the varnish of a surface on a layer on the surface of the module, as this thing is DEEP. I would be very interested in seeing/hearing what other people do with it, what their strategies are, which suprising feats are to be found etc. Maybe some people here even have experience with the OG clouds module, or one of the clones in Euro? I feel like a total granular noob navigating the module, searching for a needle in the hay, but that's def kind of the fun in it anyway! So here is my first exploration, an excerpt of the end of this first session, using a simple FMOS sequence as input for the Cirrus and messing manually with the parameters. soundcloud.app.goo.gl/zc45P

Great demo! Indeed, it's an incredible module; feed something into it (like this simple FMOS sequence) and get lost for hours twiddling the knobs... I can't tell you how happy I am to have it in the AE palette! And more MI modules will follow, promised!

It is indeed incredible, thank you so much for adding this amazing versatility to the AE system, this adds a whole new area of sounds & wild stuff. I was wondering, after reading the AE Cirrus page again, and reading the Supercell webpage & manual: I suppose the module is loaded with the Parasites firmware? But does this also mean that the main Granular mode is the Parasites version (as described on the Supercell page), or is it the original MI one and are only the four extra modes the Parasites/Kammerl modes?

I posted this a while ago: A tutorial of the Supercell software in VCV Rack, but this should work pretty much the same. Important to note that the Grayscale Supercell module has a few more inputs, but these are mostly attenuators I think? forum.aemodular.com/thread/1534/supercell-tutorial-applies-cirrus-module

However, the Supercell page (which I also linked in my comment above) mentions either the four original algo's or the 'Superparasites' firmware which includes altered versions of the original + four more algo's. The Cirrus store page seems to be talking about the 'Superparasites' firmware, which also means the 'original ones' are actually the slightly modded versions of the Parasites firmware. It does make a difference (for example the envelope shape of the grains is different), as it means the original MI Clouds tutorials are not 100% accurate for this algorithms. I think its the 'Superparasites' firmware that is installed, as I thought I noticed that my grain shapes where not the same as the ones in a DivKid tutorial. If anything, this would be GOOD news, because the Parasites 'mod' of the original main algo is definitely an improvement. It would just be nice to know for sure.

People may have found this already but this Microcell cheat sheet is really handy Definitely helping me get some more purposeful sounds out of Cirrus!
