To my ears this is such a fine contemporary(ish) electronic album. Robert Henke I think was one of the founding designers of Ableton, in its inception.
I won't post any links here. I have been trying to get this album on vinyl for ages but it goes for crazy money. I saw the CD on Ebay the other day for £45! Beautiful production and its really nice to hear an album that breaks the taboos of no reverb allowed on bass and drums.

This YouTube video seems legit. At least it lists all the proper licensing blurbs
Awesome tracks!

Monolake kills. Hands down. For me, their most amazing release was the "Gobi The Desert" EP. 30+ minutes of near-beatless drift. In fact, one time I was listening to it with the windows open and wondered how Robert Henke had gotten such excellent cricket noises. Well, of course, it wasn't the CD doing that...but it does show just what sort of trip Monolake was into at the time, as the outdoor sounds meshed perfectly with their music.
