Here's my (temporary) project AE Modular. Of course, the placement of the modules can evolve according to my way of working. Some modules are missing from this image (mixers, FX) but are on the wish list. For experienced users, all criticisms about the layout of the modules are welcome ! Attachments:

Be sure to get long wire with that case. As your sequencesr are far away from your sound source. If I were you I would add a NOISE and an Attenuator, other than that it looks perfectly fine to me.

Yes, the Noise module is on my order, and Attenuators module is planned on my next order.
Yes, you're right, the Sound Sources are too far from the sequencers.
So another layout (attachment)...

You also might want to have the VCA/ENV closer to the SEQ8 and SEQ16 if you plan to use them as gates.
I have a standard 2 row case, and I'm useing the 40cm longs wires, they can't reach far left Inputs to Far right Outputs. So you'll need the 55cm long if you are using a wide case, and I guess you are.
The thing is with AEM it is very easy to move modules, you just have to unscrew them behind your case and remove the ribbon cable and it's done.
In your case I would have made things like this, from tops to bottom:
- Sound Sources
- Sequencers
- LFO - LOGIC - S&H
- Filters - VCA - ENV

I've been thinking about how I use a synth, and finally I reorganized the modules like synth-voices (VCO - VCF - VCA + LFO & ENV). Here is the new layout (attachment) Attachments:

You're right !  Some modules are missing from this image (mixers, FX) but are on the wish list. Mixers are on my next order.

Yes you need much more utilities ! I personally like to spread them around a bit, because I need mixers and attenuators pretty much everywhere.
