Just bought Human League - Travelogue on vinyl from Ebay for £5. Mint condition. I believe it was recorded analogue. Such a great album.

I have the next album, Dare, on vinyl too, great album. There really was a lot of great synth pop at the beginning of the 80s, before the DX-7 and other early digital synths steamrolled everything.

Yes, Travelogue is a fantastic album! If you haven't already heard it check out their first LP, Reproduction. Even better in my opinion.

The Golden Age of the Future, from 1977 is another, sometimes overlooked gem.

Great links here from you people and thanks. I have Dignity of Labour on Vinyl already. I'd really like to get the B.E.F. - Music for Stowaways EP. But I think it was only ever released on Cassette.

"Music for Stowaways" is sort of...eh. I have a copy of it somewhere, listened to it a good bit back in the 1980s. The album consists of Marsh and Ware's backing tracks for a third album by Human League's original lineup, so it all has this very unfinished feel to it; you can hear things that were eventually fleshed out into BEF/Heaven 17 tracks such as "(We Don't Need This) Fascist Groove Thing", but nothing that really relates to Oakey et al's continuation of the band on the next album, "Dare". In essence, Marsh and Ware were the actual instrumental core of the group, which explains why "Travelogue" and "Dare" don't sound like they were done with the same band...because they weren't!

I'm not a massive fan of the Dare album and beyond, though at the time I remember the BEF album was pretty groundbreaking. I read an interview with Phil Oakey saying the Linn drum changed everything for them. I was in a punk band at the time and we even got an interview at the A&R office at Virgin from a demo tape. I remember the A&R guy saying that we were in the past and that bands like BEF were what was happening. I was just a kid just out of school then but it was pretty demolishing. I think we sold alot of our gear and bought some synths and drum machines after that!
