I'm sure I posted this somewhere, but I can't remember where! I found some SIL pin sockets which are compatible with the AEModular patchwires from 'Preci-Dip', they fit the AEModular patch wires perfectly but they are only 7mm high (AEModular headers are taller). I bought them from RS in the UK, but they are available elsewhere I am sure: Here is the link to RSReally, the pins are a little short for reliable connection to a breadboard (they like to pop out of the board!), so it's probably best to make up an adaptor like this using a straight pin header: Lower profile ones are also available, perhaps more widely? Hope this is useful to someone!

Thanks, I was looking for this info. They are also available from Mouser. I had stumbled upon these before but wasn't sure whether they would be compatible. There is also the 316 series which has more narrow holes, probably too narrow if you say the 801 fit perfectly
