Hi all I will soon be taking the plunge and diving into the pool of AE Modular. The way I am thinking of going is with a System 2, plus the following: 4ATTMIX 4I/O BRAEDBOARD FMOS LOPAG POLAMIX SLEW/EDGE WAVEFOLDER For quick reference here is a list of the modules in System 2 MASTER 2OSC/d VCO NOISE 2LFO FILTER (Wasp type) SVFILTER 2ENV 2VCA LOGIC SAMPLE&HOLD BEATDIVIDER SEQ8 2ATT/CV MIXER DELAY So my question, from a budgetary viewpoint as much as anything, am I adding any unnecessary duplication here? Or missing anything obvious to get the most of of my selections? The majority of my music is I guess electronic noise but I also do drone work and have a hunkering to return to my early love of TD and Klaus Schulze style music. To give you an idea of some of what I do here is a link to a recording of two solo live sets. Hopefully not stupid self promotion. If you like what you hear feel free to download for free. zanntone.bandcamp.com/album/foldhead-livePaul

Well, one thing I'd suggest adding is the QUANTIZER to go with that SEQ8. But even moreso, you need more sequencing capability if you're aiming at Klaus or TD's turf. I'd suggest a SEQ16 and a 3VCSWITCH here. If you pay attention to what Chris Franke was up to in the classic mid-70s stuff with his bank of Moog 960s, you'll notice (well...mainly if you've used a Moog 960, I suppose) how much he's bouncing patterns from one off of the operation of another. The NYLE is also a good choice for some of the stranger timbres that Klaus would use, as it's the closest thing in the AE to having that coupled Moog filter sound due to Nyle Steiner's oddly split inputting scheme.

Thanks Luigi, helpful suggestions. I'll add the quantiser for the "buy later" list. I included a 3CVSwitch initially but then realised I cannot afford everything I want at once. A Solina is also on my buy later list.
Will take a look at the NYLE too.

I'm a fan of filters and effects, for me the MS20 is a real interesting "must have" filter as it can create some very unique sounds.
