Has anyone had any experience with the Electric Druid chips? Or heard of any other companies providing similar chips? Basically they seem to provide ICs that are capable of performing common synth/pedal functions - VCAs, VCFs, Oscillators, Envelopes, etc.
From peeking at a couple of the datasheets they seem to be pretty AE compatible. They should run on 5V, and stick to the 0..5V output range as far as I've seen (but don't quote me there - still need to review the sheets more carefully). Chip availability is pretty limited for the US Suppliers, but I'm still considering picking up one that is available just to see how it builds up into a module. I didn't think I needed a wavetable VCO, but... maybe I do.
mobius, thanks for mentioning them; I already contacted electricdruid, ordered some chips, and I seriously consider to use them in new modules. You are right, they fit perfectly into the AE system due to the 5V supply range they use. Especially interesting for me is the wavetable oscillator (here, he is developing a new thing at the moment he told me), and also the delay (which has extreme delay times). I hope to find some time soon to check them.
