Nicolas Collins' book: Handmade Electronic Music is a must for the DIY library
He is just releasing a new edition with a lot of updated sections and some about what other people are up to around the world. Looks great, despite the chaos of pandemics etc.

Also, robertlanger recommends "Arduino for Musicians" by Brent Edstrom
I agree. It has great explanations of stuff that I just didn't get before reading it. I guess I need to be told the same thing in 6 different ways before the penny finally drops.
