Hi all, thanks to Mathias (who also made the various GRAINS firmwares) we now have two very interesting and musically usable projects for the BRAEDBOARD module. Check them out here: wiki.aemodular.com/pmwiki.php/AeDiy/EasyProjectsForTheBRAEDBOARDModulePlease let me know if you have any problems with building these or if you have any ideas of improvements or variations. I hope that many more projects will follow, please let me know if you have any ideas that could be added to the Wiki.

It's quite impressive what this community can put together.
These are really good beginner projects, and useful.
Well done

Hello Everyone,
just checking if anyone has tried those beginner braedboard projects and if there is any feedback?
Also if you have a project of your own that you've made with the braedboard module, please let me know and I can work with you to add it to the wiki.

As mentioned on Instagram earlier today, I have a BRAEDBOARD on order. Will give the two projects a go and report back. Quick question - are the parts required for these included with the module? No worries if not but it would be cool for users to be able to get stuck in without having to look for any additional components.

Yes, these projects use only parts that are contained in the package.

Waiting for my delivery. My order is in processing now, so I hope in a few days to find the breadboard module in my collection.

just checking if anyone has tried those beginner braedboard projects and if there is any feedback? Hi! Thanks a lot for these beginner projects, they were a great help in getting started with AEM-DIY. But I must admit I had a moment of despair as even the first project didn't produce sound at all. I was meticulously following the illustrations mostly and I believe found a small mistake in this pic here wiki.aemodular.com/uploads/AeDiy/Project01/image2.jpg. The 104 cap should be on the upper half of the black board for the circuit to work.
At least I interpreted the picture as having the 104's legs connected to the lower half, which of course is not connected to the upper half at all, except on the +5V and GND columns. Right?

Does anyone know if the output signal would need amplifying? I made a little diy synth with the cd40106 a while ago and the output signal on it was pretty low

I have trouble understanding the breadboard picture for the second beginner project. AFAIK the first oscillator build around the schmitt trigger on pins 1 & 2 is supposed to modulate the oscillator constructed around the schmitt trigger on pins 5 & 6. right?
If so then why is the diode that connects the two oscillators put in such a way that current can only flow from the second oscillator to the first oscillator? This makes no sence IMO.
I'm a diy noob, can someone explain what I'm missing? The casperelectronics video does not mention this construction with a diode.

I made a little diy synth with the cd40106 a while ago and the output signal on it was pretty low Did you check your patchcables, it seems like the braedboard patchcables are not the same quality as the modular patch cables? When I tried to build the first oscillator I had one broken patchcable in my braedboard kit, which caused very erratic low noise, once I replaced the cable everything worked loud and clear.

I so you need to include a 10k resistor to ground after the diodes. Otherwise these things should be pretty loud!

Check out the logic noise articles for a brilliantly detailed explanation of using 40106's - hackaday.com/2015/02/04/logic-noise-sweet-sweet-oscillator-sounds/#more-144711Theres an explanation including current flow and actually has the diode the other way around but explains how it affects the chip.
