Hi,
I’ve recently bought the AE Modular Starter Rack 2, and I would like to control it via the Roland MC-101 groovebox. Having followed the instructions in the quick start guide, I’m at a loss as to why I’m not having any luck in doing so.
Would anybody be able to help?

I've connected the MC-101 to the AE modular as such: MC-101 MIDI OUT -> MIDI IN on the AE MASTER module The MC-101's output channels can be set to any of the 16 MIDI channels. I've set it to channel 1, as per the AE quick start guide. After that, I've followed the AE quick start guide, using the TRIQ164 as a substitute for the STEP10 (as my unit doesn't have the STEP 10). Everything is connected as instructed, and a simple monophonic bassline programmed on the MC-101, but I can't seem to get the AE to behave! |

Thanks! But again, what do you mean by it doesn’t “behave”?  Do you get a clock CV signal? A MIDI CV signal? Is the LED on the Master I/O flashing? Etc. |

Hi leytonthorne, please make sure that you first route the BUS CLK into the Beat Divider module and then from there to TRIQ164. See my video about this here: |

Thanks! But again, what do you mean by it doesn’t “behave”? Do you get a clock CV signal? A MIDI CV signal? Is the LED on the Master I/O flashing? Etc. Hi, Turns out that I wasn't patching from the TRIQ to the ENV, hence the AE and the groovebox misbehaving. It all works now |
