hello there Tangible peoples,
I received the algodrone module a week or so ago.. just a few days before admin posted up all the info on the monster, so was flying blind, a little.
The Algodrone is quite close to my heart, having been in discussion and swapping ‘bytebeat’ info with robert from early on ( was it really 2 years ago?? maybe more? ). having had an interest in the phenomenon since around 2013 I sent robertlanger a couple of batches of ‘formula’ I had cooked for him to wrestle with.. I am overjoyed to find that he has incorporated a number of my ‘algos’ as presets in the module.. numbers 55 to 68 if roberts memory is correct.. including number 66 which is now one of my favourites!!
it makes me happy to think that a little of my dna is incorporated in this module AND to my surprise you cannot write over the included presets!! only 68 - 97 are user storage for all that random insanity any purchaser will produce... so a vague form of immortality is mine
So... I enjoyed Careck’s demo of the solina and algodrone but I thought, as the algo module is one of the more expensive ones, that some examples of it’s functioning in various simple or stand alone scenarios might help anybody who is ‘on the fence’ about it... though I have to say it is one hell of a noisy oyster so my examples might scare off as many people as it might intrigue.. rest assured, the module is pretty versatile and the sounds I have made here are merely scratching the surface, there is most likely a world of beauty hidden in the bowels of the algodrone.. but i am not a makeup artiste..
it’s about 15 minutes. with each example lasting aprox 1 minute or less until the big 2 mins rave at the end.. all recorded direct out of the AE modular line out, no external enhancements just butt edits or crossfades.
please excuse my naive video ‘art’ that accompanies the clips..
Did anyone else here contribute formula for the presets?? Felix maybe??
anyway, here it is.. headphones recommended.. though mostly to avoid freaking out neighbours/pets. algodrone removes earwax at 20 paces!!
