Hi everyone, last week I finally got my system and I’ve been enjoying it very much. The only thing which really annoyed me were these plastic buttons which I find too noisy, hard to push and too high. On most of the modules you don’t need to use them a lot and it’s all fine but it really bothered me on the TRIQ164 module as I use the buttons there very often. I was dreaming of something similar to the buttons on Knit Rider module from Bastl Instruments. Therefore I searched for lower buttons which require less force to push and found these: B3F-1070. They are exactly the same like the originals, just lower and softer. I replaced them (I had to use 1 mm thick plastic stripe to underlay them so they have perfect height) and it’s great. They are very silent, soft (easy to push) and you can even slide your finger over them to fill the sequence (as you would i.e. on Volca Sample). If anyone doesn’t find the original buttons comfortable enough I highly recommend these. I’m also attaching some images. You can see there the plastic stripe, which I actually cut from plastic paper binder. :-)

Hello vojta, this is so cool! I also find the original buttons on TRIQ164 too clicky especially at night when everyone else in my tiny home is trying to sleep Your modification looks really cool and shouldn't be too hard to accomplish.

This is great! Indeed I'm not totally happy with the existing ones; bit I never saw a better alternative. This might be it! Thanks a lot, this might be an important step to make AE better!

This is great! I love that you did this so much. Do you know offhand how tall the original buttons were? I just put my rack together and am trying to avoid digging up my calipers...

I think the original buttons are something like TACT-613N-F – 13 mm tall (measured from PCB). The one I used is 9.5 mm.

Once again, Robert's on it. Really, I don't know many synth builders who'll shift their production ideas to accommodate a new control for ergonomics. Especially from user communication.
Damn, I love this modular system...

Updating this older thread: I have much softer button switches now for the mentioned modules, especially TRIQ164. They will be used from now on for the module production; but as you can imagine, it will take some time until all existing modules are used up before these ones find their way into the wild. BUT: I'm just ordering a new batch of TRIQ164 modules, and these will be silent!
