I don't have the tools to make nice looking, clean cut faceplates for DIY AE modules.
Has anyone researched laser cutting services? I've found lots around me, but they seem to be mass production services, nothing that will let me send them a singe AE modular faceplate and a template.
Is there such a thing?

I only know formulor.de in Berlin, Germany; shipping cost might be an issue but they are good for single pieces. I made my first prototypes there before I got my hands on a lasercutter. The have e.g. 2mm plywood as material which might work well for AE frontpanels.
Otherwise I could do it too, if it's not too much / too often...

Try to see if you have a fablab in your city.
Here in Copenhagen there are two, and you can use their laser cutter for free, for non commercial use.
Of course you have to pay for materials.

I’ve ordered from Plexilaser in Germany in the past and can recommend them: www.plexilaser.de/The prices were reasonable and I could simply send them an .ai vector file from Illustrator. EDIT: I ordered cutouts for bigger enclosures which I designed, but I haven’t ordered a single modular faceplate. So maybe the pricing “reasonability” is different then.

I dont know where are you located, but i still would also suggest to have a look at your neighborhood/town/city. There are a lot of places today that offer lasercutting or 3D printing services for small quantities. Some places that could offer something like that are: -Librarys - in my town we got a CCC (chaos computer club) meetin place with lasercutter -Community Workingspaces -Art studios -Universitys -Community Colleges -Colleges and schools -Youth Centers Hope you‘ll find something soon best luck!
