The analog synth world is still very new to me, and this question is likely very basic.
I’ve run into some unexpected behavior while attempting to mix two sounds that are somewhat related: Using the same midi signal, I am attempting to mix both a square and a sawtooth wave; the sawtooth I’d like to tune down via the frequency knob. I patched both of these signals to the mixer and expected to hear a combination of the two. Instead I get one or the other, but doesn’t seem to be both.
Am I doing something wrong? Is my mixer broken? Or is this the nature of “subtractive” synthesis? I conceptually understand subtractive and additive, but don’t exactly understand what they both entail as far as limitations and application.
I can make a video of what I’m talking about if that would be helpful.
Thanks!

That definitely shouldn't happen. Can you detail your patch ?

Well it gets weirder. I had the same patch plugged in, was ready to make a video, and it was no longer exhibiting that behavior this morning! If I find a way to duplicate it I will provide a video.

Which mixer module are you using? The MIX4-4 or the 4ATT/MIX? I found that sometimes the MIX4-4 can be overwhelmed if one channel is very high and it seems to take over. Once I adjusted the volume though it balances out again.

@careck I am using the MIX4-4 actually. I've also noticed the "overloading" that you are talking about, but this time it was stuck that way, no adjustments were helping. Maybe it needed a good old fashioned restart Next time it happens I'll try to reproduce it. Bug testing is a hobby of mine
