You Got RhythmTheme: Create a rhythmical piece Submission window: Tuesday 11 November -> No Finish Date Background:
It's been a while since we had a Patch Challenge, and it seems wrong not to reach #20, so here it is... Patch Challenge #20.
Most of us should have some modules that enable us to make rhythmical noise (remember, even a filtered noise source will work here, if you don't have any specific drum modules). Also, most of us should have something that generates triggers for use with our chosen sound source.
So, armed with at least one source and something to generate some triggers, get creative with filtering and envelopes (and maybe even the sequencer for good measure) and create something rhythmical... it doesn't have to be melodic, but it can be if you want.
This challenge has been made open-ended as we don't have too many of them at the moment, so feel free to experiment and post a few things here.
Best of all, have some fun
The challenge is set, and runs during the submission window set out above, however, please feel free to add entries or leave comments after the initial challenge has ended. Each entry should contain:- Link to audio or video example (embedded preferred)
- Short (or not so short) patch notes, explaining how you have built on the above theme
Your entry can be as short/long as you wish, a simple sound or a track, use external fx or synths, do what you can in the time you have - go wild, make the challenge yours! You are welcome to use previous entries, as inspiration, build on them to form something new, or just use in a different way, you are welcome to submit multiple entries. If you are posting on social media (youtube, soundcloud) , please tag with #AEChallenge and #AEModular, and include a link back to the challenge thread here on the AE Modular forum. Everyone is actively encouraged to comment on entries, provide feedback and ideas... you are welcome to continue commenting/discussing outside of the submission window. the more we discuss the more we all learn
This is part of the AE patch challenge series - if you would like more information, or have ideas for the challenge, please post on the patch challenge thread.

A bit rough and for some reason the recording got cut short, bit I'm so crunched for time lately, it'll have to do Edit: I just realized the topic was RYTHEM, not melody. Oops. Think I’ll have to find a better place for this, sorry!!

Awesome! As I said in my comment on Youtube, the melody is really cute. Also good use of the Beatstep Pro. It makes we wonder whether I should hold on to mine (I have it up for sale atm).

Edit: I just realized the topic was RYTHEM, not melody. Oops. Think I’ll have to find a better place for this, sorry!! Don't worry about it! We are all super relaxed here! I'm always super happy to see other people do videos of their AE Modular performances. It's very inspiring every time as everyone approaches this instrument in a different way.

As admin says, there is a level of relaxation that exists here that allows for some lattitude on the challenges... plus, I can hear rhythm in there Thanks for contributing, it's both interesting and educational to see/hear how someone else approaches these challenges. I enjoyed it and I did like the way you swept the envelope up into the beat, very nice.

I do not know if it fits well in that challenge, but here it is anyway.
Everysound was made with the AE Modular and played live. The kick is in a second channel in the mixer wih a shit tone of EQ and a bit a gain and reverb to crank it up and make it sound more "present" and "rounded". Crash soundy is make with the noise module and Nyle filter. The other sound is... I don't really know what i've done to be honest. I've made lot of changes while playing and I think there are some patche wire pretty usless who doesn't work anymore but that's how I do things. if it's work and have a great sound it's ok for me, I don't always fully understand what I do. Nonetheless i'm pretty happy with that piece of kinda techno-ich beat?
Well, hope you enjoy

Think I’ll have to find a better place for this, sorry!! I really like this one. This „sloppyslowslapback“ rythim builds up so nicely and merges in crazy ways with this dreamy lead sound you made. Really smooth. Im picturing Beemo and Fin and Jake playing around with bubbles on some lushy dense colourful grasfields, while listening to this. <3

this is brutal. but brutally good. would fit perfect for a hidden bonus bossfight or cutscene in hotline miami... or for a blade like raving scene. evil.

Awesome track, really catchy bassline! I'm so glad that you have "resurrected" this patch challenge and I hope that more people will take on the old challenges! I noticed that I have not actually delivered on this so this was a great reminder to get patching again!

I haven't made anything for any challenge for a while, so to celebrate the resurrection of 20th task I'll resurrect my activity with new entry Here is Waiting room 238 with some switched triggers for filtered noise and other things to accompany.

This is my favorite track that I've heard from you yet! It's got so many elements all working together to create a really unique piece. Awesome job.

Small first recorded patch for this forum! Hopefully, it’s listenable.
And I promesse that next time I’ll use a better setup with camera stand and direct audio. Now I just wanted to try my power bank setup if doable for future outdoor jams.
