I found this on my FB feed. Really interesting to note that TD ste coming back to their 70s/80s sound! This was already very noticeable on their list album Quantum Gate which was the first TD album that I liked since the late 80s. Notes I'm really looking forward to their next production! all-andorra.com/tangerine-dream-returning-to-their-original-core/

These are the improvised parts of concerts and some studio ones as well. They set up a structure so that it doesn't get too crazy. You can hear all of the issued ones on YouTube as well as a lot of fan-recorded ones. That is taking it back even closer to "the source", although sometimes they struggle to break out of their imposed structures where the 70's incarnation may have done so more easily. Still well worth a listen.

I'm personally not that keen on Quantum Gate, but second the vote for the Sessions albums, some good stuff there though a couple of bits go on a bit long for me.
