I was trying to figure out the Rings/Rain port to the TBD module (which is neat but quite limited) and while I don't think it would be a straight-up replacement for the dedicated module, you can get some nice stuff out of it. The textures and stuff are all AE (a little TBDrings, a little Rains, some delays, and Le Module 01 through the phaser) as are the drums (Wonkystuff <3 ). Droney bass is 3rd Wave, lead sort of thing is Virus and knob-twiddling. Pretty nice for sitting down after a long time away from the rig...
