right ... I'm gonna answer myself here (which is not an uncommon experience for me being an Asperger)
- mostly because another 'me' might read this thread in the future ;O

So after the loooong wait-out ;O I finally got a few beginner parts AND the
VCO-module- THANK you ! :) Robert
The following will be written for people (like myself) having absolutely NO previous experience with modular synths !
- and seeking information as to how one could play this just like a synthesizer with ... more options ! :)
/**** The below is 'figured' out using the Arturia Keystep37 ****/
The »coarse« (tuning) knob DEFINITELY have a wide range AND is the key to set what range one would like to be in.
- and the »fine« (tuning) knob is the aide to adjust very precisely once the coarse is to difficult to set as wanted
No surprises so far.
So holding down the lowest C-key on the keyboard I can tune the VCO to C4 (I believe it is) as the lowest C-note
(it goes well below the C-note but NOT down to the next C)
Surprisingly (at least to me) I then got a C-note both one octave (C5) & two octave (C6) up
BUT the C# key after that and further up the keyboard did not play
- thus being an effective 2 octave (25 notes) keyboard instead of a 3 octave (37 notes) keyboard -
and using the »oct+« button (transpose) didn't give tones past C6
- it DID however move the C6 down the keyboard
thus going from being an effective 2 octave (25 notes) keyboard to a 1 octave (13 notes) keyboard.
So instead using the »oct-« button I could then transpose the lowest C-note on the keyboard down to C3
- getting notes on all 37 keys.
And further down to C2 and C1.
But when going for one lower - moving the C1 up the keyboard to the second lowest C-key on the keyboard -
the keys from the lowest B-key and down to the lowest C-key don't play notes.
So it is possible to span 5 octaves - including the C at both ends - with C1 as being the lowest
... baring in mind that the tuning isn't as 'grand' near the end of the span.
Going up instead (tune higher than the C4); it is possible to go into the range one can't hear ... or like to hear anyway ? ;O
Regarding how 'well' it holds tuning across the span;
the only comparison I have is with digital controlled tuning which is ... well precise and thus somewhat boring ?
That being said; I'm not so sure I will end up being able to rely on this VCO alone.
(trying to record some tracks could show & tell if or not)
and have the analogue act as the detuned 'tone' in the voicing would prove to be an awesome choice ?
