It's 8U case possible to print in one piece on most printers. Tolerances are almost perfect from 1st try π
Will work on them a little + Volca 7U case + maybe some solution for adjustable angle and maybe 2row 8U case. In plans make modular system for cases. I will publish models on printables in next few days. Any ideas appreciated. UPDATE: Added 2 rows cases of sizes 8-10-12-14-16U. Same for 1 row cases. Added handles for all sizes and connector XL for vertical positioning of a 2 row case. AVAILABLE NOW: RELEASED MODELS

That is one sweet little case. Add a few threaded inserts and you have a very flexible configurable setup. You oucould even design a lid and some hinges that protect your modules + patch in transport.

Not exactly the same but something very similar, i.e. these inserts that you can melt in place with a soldering iron in your 3D printed parts. The inserts on the AE cases are just bolts that are glued in place if I'm not mistaken.

just needs a uModule row up top!

just needs a uModule row up top! I think it's impossible rn. Only if uModule bases inserted horizontally. Rn on TW store I see only horizontal case minimum 12U wide with PCB along it's width

Also I think I need add holes on top and bottom sides of case to be able daisy chain multiple cases and connect them vertically same as TW cases.

Rn on TW store I see only horizontal case minimum 12U wide with PCB along it's width ah.. but, the horizontal bases in those cases ( poetry! :] ) are made up in sections of 4 .. so it is vaguely conceivable that Robert might sell you some of them at a reasonable price ( no doubt ) and you could make an 8 row case ?

you would just need to get half of them without the connector soldered ( or all of them and solder the connectors yrself as needed )

btw, love the look of this white 8 row case , we just need white module faceplates to match

Theyaccurately fitting the width of 8U almost perfectly.

I have a feeling that stickers will be peal off easily because of painted surface. To prevent that maybe just make stickers wider and wrap sides of faceplates so stickers also would be hold by neighbor modules. Dunno

Dunno i did think about making sticker sets for the Grains modules , so once you had decided what firmware to use the pin and pot labels would be clearly shown... but feijai and his amazing endless new things makes that a bit hard to pin down

yes, i see what you mean,,, and orientation of the mini modules on their side shouldnβt be much issue ... still, 2 of those 4mu plates would be even more neat βnβ tidy if you can get βem ..

Update: Now it's possible to build system with multiple cases. Requirements: Each case require it's own cable and connect to incoming cable with standart Arduino pins in reversed position (that's happening because in first case cable goes as example from left to right but in next case it goes in opposite direction which force cable to rotate 180 degrees). That's the best solution I'm come up with for now. For 2 Cases system: 10x Arduino pins. 2x cables 4x 5M nuts. 4x 5M 15-16mm bolts. And print all that stuff ofc. Design is inspired by arturia's modular cases. Left to add more variants for connecting cases and play a little with their sizing. Add handle. Redo grubnuts and it's ready for publication.

wow... that looks pretty damn fine ,,, and a nice compact way to have 16u stowed! just needs the handle-stand to take 5 or 6 AA batteries and theyβll be hammering yr door down for βem

That looks very nice indeed. What printer did you print this on? Did you use PLA?

Woaaaaah this is SUPER COOL!! Awesome work. I would love to try and print this once you share the models opens up so many possibilities for cool case colors as well. Is the model parametric by any chance? Would be supercool to be able to enter how much 'U' space you want and have the width of the case change (I'm not super good at this myself, so I'm not 100% sure how one would deal with making the screw spacing change nicely with this for example.) By the way, I know that the Wonkystuff modules tend to be something like 1mm longer (length of PCB), I noticed when printing some boxes to 'store' some modules: the AE modules fitted perfectly, the Wonky ones didnt go in. However, the standoffs/'feet' of the modules are always in the same place, so as long as there is enough tolerance so the modules fit in, it should be no problem. Last thing: I know some people have been messing with 3D-printing frontplates as well. I imagine printing some new frontplates for such a homemade case can make really cool custom modulars!

It's not parametric and I have no idea how to make it such (started using fusion 360 a week age π
). But indeed that would be cool. I will check it and if it's not super complicated I will try to add this. It have some tolerances (0,4mm summ vertically and horizontally) but I don't have any wonkystuff modules to test unfortunately. Stock modules actually a little smaller than sizes specified in docs and fitted pretty well with some space left (probably you can see on photos)

Nice job for only using Fusion one week! I'm the same, only started learning it a good month ago π
so i don't really know if it's easy to make this parametric. I've done some parametric stuff and it is really awesome when it works though.
Once the files are online, i'll be happy to be the test person with Wonky modules!
