Yeah, yeah, I like pretentious names. Bonus points to anyone who figures out where I grabbed them. I've been vaguely putting together a few tracks in a similar vein and figured I should call it an EP. People on soundcloud or discord have heard two of these, but one is new today and one I just kinda found floating around on my hard drive and thought sounded like it fit. Remember: Hard drive space is cheap-- save EVERYTHING. Anyway, here it is: manysmallfunctions.bandcamp.com/album/hills-like-drops-of-bloodAll AE. Quite a lot of Solina, Le Module 01, and Rains. (Solina through Rains, even!) A little FMOS, some other stuff, lots of Euclid Grid and a smidge of 2Auto. Lots of using 2 sequencers for the same thing, or 1 sequencer for 2 things. Wires everywhere! Now I've done enough of this and I need to figure out a new sort of thing to do. 8) |

for the bonus... something from one of the Gormenghast books? i can’t place those title quotes but ‘noon ripe as thunder’ sounds very Peake ... or maybe someone influenced by him ( or that influenced him ) ?
been a long time since i read Titus Groan , but i did nick the odd lyric idea from there..

for the bonus... something from one of the Gormenghast books? i can’t place those title quotes but ‘noon ripe as thunder’ sounds very Peake ... or maybe someone influenced by him ( or that influenced him ) ? been a long time since i read Titus Groan , but i did nick the odd lyric idea from there.. We have a winner! I knew there had to be the right kind of nerd hanging out somewhere around here. 8) |

The Polyend Tracker auto naming function can also spit out similar titles. #riseofthemachines #thematrixisreal looks like they are flogging them off cheap , if anyone craves Titus Groan Auto Titles ,, which actually would be a usp for me... maybe the PT mini will be discounted next? Seems like I sold mine just in time.. Sold it for €500 (it was €700 new at that point, so seemed like a fair price). Hope the guy who I sold it to has a good time with it, cause selling it now would be a total bummer for him. 40% off is truely ridiculous imo. |

I bought mine new for 579, 399 now is indeed quite the price drop. I would still get the og instead of the mini, the pads are what make the tracker experience work on the PT, IMHO. |

I would still get the og instead of the mini, the pads are what make the tracker experience work on the PT, IMHO. that’s nice to know, to be honest even if the mini’s get a reduction ( ) i probably wouldn’t go there, the only tracker i have any real experience using is LSDJ .. not quite the same thing... but i feel i’d have to REALLY master that ( after 20 odd years! ) before going for the super fancy version.. |

The thing that was always a bit daunting for me was the interface to encode note values and fx value on the tracker. The PT has solved that issue for me in a very elegant way thanks to the dedicated note/fx buttons, now you can encode fx without the need to learn every fx type value by heart. Would more tracks be interesting? Sure, but the 8 tracks work for me since a track is not limited to one instrument/midi channel so there are ways to work around the number of tracks limitation. And you can always free up track space by rendering a selection of step+tracks into 1 new sample.
