SWEET! Man, with the SAMPLYR I can finally do field recordings when out on the river. Could you imagine SAMPLYR into CIRRUS? What about SAMPLYR into an ENVFOLLWER? That would be fun! This is the best newsletter in the whole world!

I like that seemlingly all parameters are CV-controllable. At first I thought: What does this add over connecting a Volca sampler or similar?

I like that seemlingly all parameters are CV-controllable. At first I thought: What does this add over connecting a Volca sampler or similar? I love the Volca Sample, but the SAMPLYR has the following pros (IMHO): 1. It's tiny! 2. Sample length is unrestricted .. if it fits on the SD card, it will play for minutes on end. Volca samples can be only be 130 seconds maximum 3. As you said .. CV control of the parameters 4. Define loop start and end. I don't think Volca sample can do this. The loop starts after the sample plays from start to end and then loops as long as gate is on. 5. Samples are simple files stored on an SD card! No funny business with audio or USB cables and special software drivers! You can have many different SD cards with different sample libraries on them to quickly swap them out. There are some cons: 1. Only one sample can play at a time. 2. Samples are relatively lo-fi with only 8bit (or 10bit) 3. No built in envelopes, you need to patch it to a VCA and control it with a dedicated ENV module. 4. No built in effects or filters, you need to patch it through other modules for that. I think it's perfect for a modular set up and I think that people may want more than one in their rack

The sample select is a CV input, right? That's pretty neat.

This might actually be what you want in a modular perspective. Use the samples as an "oscillator" and patch it into the rest of your modules.

Exactly. Imo the samplyr will shine as a complex waveform oscillator. Another voice in the modulAEr system.
