Thanks You got the Cirrus Classic? I think these do not run alternative firmwares.. Only the first batch did (just 'Cirrus', not classic), but Robert had to switch the chip because of the endless chip shortages (YEARS of lead time to get the original chip)

If Cirrus Classic it´s the exact clone of the mutable "original" Clouds; and this module on eurorack, support alternative firmwares (via audio or something like that); I think maybe it´s supported?... I´m scare to try, because it´s possible to brick it..and bought two Cirrus! admin or robertlanger do you know anything about it?

I understand that it is not possible to load alternative firmwares. But are the alternate modes available (Pitch-shifter/time-stretcher, Looping delay, Spectral madness)? I mean this: (taken from the Clouds Secrets website)

I reallly don´t understand why it´s not possible to load alternative firmwares; maybe not use the same chip..or the hardware (specially the inputs, not support the audio signal in AE world).

After a year I reply my own post. The alternative firmwares (Kammerl and Parasites) run on Cirrus Classic. It's a game changer add to the classic modes on Cirrus, the beat repeat mode, spectral clouds (multiband filter crazyness) and all the benefits of Parasites Firmware, plus MI verb, and resonator

So if i understand correctly this turns a Cirrus Classic into a standard Cirrus?? The extra modes in the discontinued version were beat-repeat, oliverb, resonestor and spectral clouds...so you now have access to all of those PLUS the original four modes? Gamechanger!
Edit: wait no, i just re-read your post, you put a different firmware on each Cirrus? So both are expanded in different ways but neither is quite the same as OG Cirrus. Still, that's very cool!

That's right..not it's the super Cirrus..but you can run the firmware that you prefer in any time..and for me it's a real gamechanger for my two cirrus with different 2 modes plus the 4 original modes in each Cirrus

yes , i think so .... those two firmwares are definitely for the original mi clouds which CIRRUS Classic is a clone of .. parasites has 6 modes available with a MiVerb & Resonestor as extra modes - the original modes are also ‘tweaked’ on this - reverse buffers & smaller grain sizes available etc. so the 4 original and 2 extra modes. - but i think in the case of the Kammerl beatrepeat one you lose one of the original spectral resonator modes but gain something similar - ‘spectral clouds’ (i couldn’t say which is better?. ) so only 5 modes in that one. whereas Superparasites ( all 8 modes available ) is for the extended hardware versions which only 3rd party manufacturers ( not mi ) made and was the basis for the “original” ae CIRRUS [ now going on the 2nd hand market for THOUSANDS !! ))) ] it is a bit of a minefield

Ah, ok: so you can flash the Cirrus Classic with the two firmwares mentioned above, but the Superparasites firmware is only applicable for the original Cirrus. Thanks for the clarification!

if only CIRRUS Classic was 2u ! then it wouldn’t be so space hogging to have 2, like mr frndo !

all this makes me wish we had an AE version of WARPS so we could dive into the parasite firmwares for that one

Huh, never paid it much attention before but actually Warps *does* look interesting...

Huh, never paid it much attention before but actually Warps *does* look interesting... it fits very nicely with the old “ring mod” requests re-ignited in the new module thread ... though it is a ‘digital’ ring modulation but , of course, it is so much more at the same time i’ve realized i have many more ring mods than i need in pedal form but the only thing ‘ring mod’ like in ae-land is the xor logic (afaik)... which isn’t quite the same thing
