Hello everyone,
This is big news and something we've been hoping for some time. The AE Modular format is now officially supported on Modulargrid where you can plan your next rack or find out what modules you should put into those empty spaces in your rack.
Please check it out here: www.modulargrid.net/t/modules/home
There's still a bit of work to do to fill in all the details about each module and also the Micromodules haven't been added yet, but it's a great start and I'm sure it will just get better and better over time.
Now ... I would like to give a huge thanks to Gaëtan for valiantly developing the AE Modular Grid website. When we were still "too niche" for Modulargrid, he stepped in and created this amazing tool for planning our systems and he's kept it up to date for over 4 years! During this time the number of modules in the AE universe grew from only about 2 dozen to over 120 including all the new and exciting 3rd party modules. So thanks again Gaëtan for your dedication and vision of giving us this tool.
However being on Modulargrid feels like our format has grown up and has now earned its place among the "big players" in the modular space. Modulargrid will also make it easier to quickly add new modules, especially for 3rd party manufacturers. It also adds visibility to our format as our racks will soon mingle with the Euroracks, 5U and Serge systems.
However there are some shortcomings, for instance there are no pre-configured racks and you can't save a rack as a file and send it to someone and some of the more advanced features are only available when you pay for a "unicorn account". Therefore I'll keep the "old" grid up and running for as long as people want to use it, but it depends on whether Gaëtan still wants to invest time to keep it up to date.
Anyway ... please check out AE Modular on modular grid and let me know your thoughts!
