hello! I recently acquired a METER module (v1.3), I already read several threads (late) about its behavior operation. Is there any solution? I already tried several power sources, even connecting it directly to the MASTER I/O... I only discovered that if I slowly connect the ribbon cable, it turns on. but out of 10 or more attempts, I only got it to turn on twice! it's almost unusable! Any ideas robertlanger namke admin ?

We need more information. Do you have a power switch on your modular? What other modules are installed in your rack? Does the same behaviour happen when you only connect the METER to the master module?

Uh-oh, that does not sound good. While I sometimes (rarely) notice problems with the meter module as described in the other thread, for me it basically works 95% of the time..

I had sometimes problems with the METER not booting properly, before I used a power switch between the power adapter and the rack. It is also worth looking into the power consumption of the other modules in the same rack, those digital modules can be quite power hungry thus depriving the meter module of enough juice to make it fail to boot.

hello! thanks for answering. My main rack is a 16x2 (starter 2 + modules) I have many digital ones, but according to the GRID my consumption does not exceed 500mA and I have the original source without switch. I tried taking out several modules, connecting it only to the MASTER I/O and finally with an external Ribbon cable and only then did it turn on (I thought it was totally damaged). I have a DIY module that works similarly, and I discovered that leaving the source of power connected to the wall and connecting partially and then totally the Barrel in the rack turns on! I did this with the METER, but I only succeeded in a couple of attempts (from many tests).. I can't believe it, it's the second module I received with failures in a week! I also live in a very distant country and I have to wait many months for them to arrive (in addition to the delays already known to all)

Does everything work as expected without the Meter module in the rack, or do you still have to fiddle with the barreljack to power things on without the meter module in the rack?

Does everything work as expected without the Meter module in the rack, or do you still have to fiddle with the barreljack to power things on without the meter module in the rack? Everything works perfectly, even with the METER connected (the problem is that it doesn't turn on in 99% of cases). The power barrel trick, I only do it with a DIY digital module that I have in another rack.

That's strange.
Does the solder joints on bus connector on the meter module look ok?

Unfortunately I can’t really offer any help here (completely useless to say that I have never had a problem with mine — and that has probably jinxed it too 😬). It does seem that you are not alone in having problems, and they seem to stem from the power taking some small time to ramp up to maximum. Perhaps there is a firmware update needed to add some ‘boot up delay’ before the firmware gets started? Such an update would have to come from TW/Robert directly of course.

Thank you for your answer, it seemed to me that having participated in the development, surely you will have some idea. I fully agree, sure between the consumption of the module and how long it takes to get the power to start. Hopefully TW can solve this, I think it's right to warn, for new users like me... in this same week my MM Divider failed (batch with a defective chip); the noise level of the Drumkit (that I DIY repair)... we must also highlight the quick response of TW and it is understood that they are relatively new products and almost handmade
