This has now been completed (as I've bought one and had a little time with it).
I would appreciate other users having a look and seeing if there is anything missing; please bear in mind we try to avoid getting too technical in the Wiki - trying to encourage people!
Also, if any of the explanations you don't feel are clear enough (don't think any are wrong but I'll wait and see!) you can try and explain to me in this thread......
I did note quite a few patch ideas (TRY THE JOYSTICK ) but more are welcome, (that applies to any module....).
This is now one of my favourite modules and relit my fire for the AE which had been dormant for a few months, highly recomended
I did find a copy of the Rings manual online which I don't think I could of written the Wiki page without, hopefully the Wiki page means you don't need to unless you want more technical stuff.....

Nice one. Not having used it much I though the odd and even outs were voices of polyphony based. Interesting that it's harmonics related.
On the input I'd perhaps consider changing that to 'an audio source you want to stimulate the selected resonator in the rains', which is my understanding of what's going on there.

That's my understanding anyway, can't say I messed with them very much but appears to be true.
On the input, you are correct but I was trying for a simpler explanation; I'll have to have a ponder and reword it. A lot of what the Rains is doing is actually filtering, often just comb, but more also unsual filters, high Q settings (and more than one filter...).

In my head it's a resonating comb filter with tuned delay karplus style. Could be miles off though!

Thanks for putting this together. The MI Rings vid from DIVKID is great but having all that written down on the AE Wiki is a great reference.
I have my system wired up for a gig already but found two modules I wasn't using to replace with RAINS to double up and oscillator and it is very inspiring! This is going to be my one of my favorite modules along with the DRONE38/X and Cirrus (original).

Think we might both be right on the odd and even outs - seems that in mono mode is does what you said (odd and even partials) and in poly mode it outputs odd and even voices (in a round robin).

So is the freq CV pot an attenuverter for the frequency input? And then there's a standard (IE unscalable) V/oct input too?

Yes, that what I think is correct. Odd that it's not labelled the same as the others on the panel - need to have a go at using it as an offset for the V/Oct input... I also need to figure out the 'secret' modes - long button press brings up something different. From memory I think one is an FM synth, but there's more than one mode I think.

It's his sort of thing I love the internet for, thanks for sharing. Had printed the info off to check with my AE modular but don't need to as dizzeesatchel has already done it!
