It was a bit of a wild ride for me, but Benn Jordan is always delivering quality videos.

I'm glad I don't ever check the tunings on my synth; I do just what sounds good so accidentally may be doing something in tune with what I feel of the Schuman/Earth resonances

All jokes aside, it's imo a good idea to have all your voices in tune to each other, otherwise some voices will stick out like a sore thumb. Even when you play chromatic notes you can still pick notes that sound absolute s**t and will snap you out of the vibe of a piece. Heck I even try to tune my sc(r)apes to the rest of my voices, if something sounds out of tune it probably is. You can of course go for that dissonance on purpose, I love me a nice minor 9th double stop in a bass line since it can produce this rhythmic wobble for extra tension.

For me, if it's an atonal piece, I don't tune at all. Dissonance is fun! But if I'm working on something that I want to be more musical, I tune up my synths with a tuning app on my phone, and of course it defaults to A = 440 Hz, which is fine with me! The 432 Hz thing never made any sense to my engineering brain... 😂
