Snares are complicated-- you get the shell tone and the snap and potentially different envelopes and filtering on each. I think you said something about probably not being able to do it as a micro module, but a really nice tunable snare with adjustable snap and decay in 1U would be pretty awesome.

Has anyone had problems with the Hi Hat module having a really low volume? I just received mine and with everything turned up I can just barely hear it.

Sorry about that; It’s definitely quieter than the others, and I’m looking into whether I can change it, however I think that it might be the nature of the sound, since there’s not much energy in the higher frequencies. Personally I don’t have too much of a problem balancing the volume against the other drums (although the bd and cb are significantly louder) Can I ask what you’re triggering it with as there will be some dependency on the size of the trigger pulse. |

So turns out part of the problem I was having is the Ubase I got to run the drum modules seems to have an issue. After adjusting my expectations on the volume level I'm set. Just caught me off guard how much more quiet than the drumkit Hi Hat it was.

Any reason why the parameters that are knob-controllable are not also CV-controllable?
Same question applies to the the Tangible Waves KICK module, or a host of other modules, in general.
I often see left-over space on the input side of modules, then used as multiples, which could be used to introduce more CV-control.
(I'm new to this all, so there are probably valid technical limitations for this, but I don't know/understand them.)

on these micro module is not a lot of extra space to add more hardware, if you take off the faceplate of a uModule you will see that there is more happening behind the faceplate than meets the eye.

Indeed, space is an issue. But also: it is not always technically possible (and certainly not 'easy') to turn a knob into CV. From an electronics standpoint: a knob is a variable resistance, CV is varying voltage. For some circuits its easy, very easy to find a way to change a 'variable resistance' with a 'variable voltage' to get the same effects. It should be possible to use optocouplers as voltage controlled resistors, but there is only a narrow band of operation in which they behave nice & linear IIRC. I know that Fred's Lab small Zekit synth (with open source schematics), uses these to VC it's filter. |

My favorite patch strategy last two weeks has been to use MS20 kick together with the Wonkystuff kick. MS20 does the main groove/impact kick, wonkystuff kick provides these satisfying rhythmic pulsing/grooving/rolling sounds in between the kicks. A techno classic  And I'm still in love with these hihatts.... I swear they remind me of Aphex Twin's 'Selected Ambient' tracks! |

For the owners of keurslagerkurt 's quad boost, try sending your hh55 module through boost 1 or 2 for extra crispiness and the bd55 through boost3 for extra thump. Great combo. |
