Help me understand is a looping envelop and an end of cycle envelop the same thing or? I understand them to be the same thing. End of cycle trigger goes into the start trigger and creates a loop. That's how the 2ENV work.

Yes, EOC is just a trigger or gate signal usually, allowing you to chain anything after the envelope signal (even the envelope itself as carek wrote). This, in my opinion, is way more flexible than just a looping envelope, which is really just the EOC trigger hardwired to the envelope trigger input.

With the 2ENV and the end pulse, some fancy modulation can be done as following: Connect the END pulse of envelope 1 to the GT2 (gate of envelope 2),connect END2 to GT1; by this, you get a sequence of two consecutive envelopes with separate rise/fall times; the outputs of the two envelopes can modulate whatever,or mixed to get the full sequence as one single CV. (Has to be triggered maybe by a single trigger button press, but then it runs in a loop)

Another similar patch that is a lot of fun is a call-and-response: the end trigs patched in series as described, but each end trig also multed to two channels of sample and hold, where the sample and hold outputs are patched to v/Oct of two oscillators, and the envelopes control vcas/filters after the oscillators to get two different alternating synth voices.

There is also the simple use of the 2ENV module as a trigger delay. Want to have hits that don't fall precisely on the sequencer steps? Just patch a trigger into the envelope (attack = 0, decay = short) and patch the EOC onwards to the voice you want to trigger. So you're not using the envelope CV at all, you just use it to delay the trigger pulse from the sequencer. Since the 2ENV can be modulated, you can even dynamically change the delay of the trigger, which could even allow for variable "swing" of your beat!

This is EOC trigger is what makes it possible to have a modular that solely consist of 2ENV and 2VCA modules as proven in patch challenge #24.
