Just going off the app store descriptions: Xynthesizr requires iPadOS 9 Tardigrain (one of my faves) requires iPadOS 8 strng (same dev as tardigrain) iPadOS 9 Jasuto (modular thing which has been around for yeeeeeaaars and has a pleasing "early days of the app store" vibe  ) iPadOS 8 Seekbeats drum synth iPadOS 8.1 |

Samplr is on sale at 4.99 ( currency dependant) at the moment , and that app is the entire reason i bought an iPad2 after downloading it on my partners work ipad1 ,, 10 years ago!! ouch.. though now it says it needs ios 10 minimum... its possible it will download an earlier version if you have ios9 or summink?? not certain... but anyway ... IT’S THE DADDY. ( or possibly grandaddy? ) all the other suggestions are great , wish i had the time to investigate MobMuPlat.. i did dally with Pd end of the 90’s .. so many possibilities!! FOCUS is the key Ninja skill these days.. |

IIRC it was broken for a few years because they didn't make the jump to 64-bit when Apple did - but it eventually got a surprise update when we'd all but given up hope |

also, Jasuto disappeared for a while when the author started his job at Apple. I think there were rules about conflict of interest etc. at the time, but he has apparently resolved that with them and has even updated the android version (I think).
as well as the Ipad3, I recently found a iPad2 on the street, so I'm hoping to use that as a dedicated sequencer and/or VNC front-end for a Raspberry Pi Zero-based module for Orca and other fun things.

I wanted to try PdParty ( apps.apple.com/app/pdparty/id970528308) on my old iPad. The App store page says "Requires iOS 9.0 or later". The App installs on my iPad without problems. But when I start the App, it immediately crashes. The App works on my iPhone (iOS 16). Can anyone here with an old iPad try if the app works on your devices? |
