went to the london synth & pedal expo yesterday (the queue was huge!) had fun messing around with some 'proper' eurorack stuff, although everything had inevitably been left in a state of chaos by whoever had played with it last, had to spend ages studying everything and pulling out cables to get something sensible happening
came away inspired to rearrange my main unit, wanted to get more of the fancy stuff in there (clouds, o_C etc) going to have to make room for RAINS soon though! I'm thinking maybe the quantizer will come out and go into a sub-case, since o_C can provide that service also.

Been going back and forth with my AE modular system for a few years already. And to be honest probably the biggest set back for me is unclear production/shipping times. Wish they could fix that somehow (I get it why it's like that, but still a bit kills the vibe). OK negative things aside, found my most comfortable combo to work with: Polyend Tracker (for sampling, drums, arrangement), sound recorder (for resampling basically) and AE modular (with a few simple DIY modules, for synths, percussion and effects). Love to feed audio into AE modular, and also to make some sound effects. Probably would like to replace a few modules with Phaser and Cirrus, but again - unclear production/shipping times... Anyway, cheers and hope everyone's doing well ♥️

Your blank panels looks like something Danish Artist Poul Gernes could have painted :-)

Well spotted. The resemblance is uncanny. Gaëtan are you by any chance the reincarnated Poul Gernes?

OOOOhhhh that beautiful Agastya plant... Do you have a youtube channel for us to listen to that mistery module of yours that resembles slighlty Meeblips FREAQ FM just without the Led matrix?

Ahhh that’ll be roundabout: github.com/MattKuebrich/roundaboutIt’s a standalone thing but i rammed it into a module because the dimensions were basically perfect I have a few videos which are actually linked on that github page (as faux cyrillic)

Almost there... going to replace one of my Algodrones with my second TBD once it's fixed, and other than that I might experiment with different filters, have a couple of potential u-modules switch outs (if i wanted to go really dense/cram another module in) and a question mark over the FM osc... but really... I'm almost done! My goal/end game with this system was digital front end with a mixture of analogue and digital back, with as much CV generation as i could fit around it. I'm also aiming for as much in the way of multitimbrality as I can squeeze, hence the TBDs (which will take quite a lot of messing with) being used over other oscillator types... the CV to model thing you can do with the mutable ports in the tbd's are a goldmine in that regard though. Looking forward to finishing off that last percent or so... feels very close to being there!

Here's my ultra minimal drone machine in a v7! The micromodules had to be adjusted a bit since this pic, they're not quite sitting flat. Attachments:

Hi, It was a while ago that I bought the system but I've been pre occupied with life matters and am just coming back to this. I built a cabinet using a doweling jig. I used pine furniture wood and I stained it, remembering what I used to in wood work, at school but I should have used varnish in retrospect. The staining was a long process and didn't come out as good as I'd like, but I'm pleased with it, it works well. The leads from the keystep pro go up behind the cabinet and thru holes in the mounting boards, nicely in to the synth. You can see the doweling on the 2nd pic. It's not glued so can bang it apart with a rubber hammer. The 3rd pic shows handles on the side so I can pick up the whole lot and move it easily. The 4th pic shows the back where I can recalibrate with ease and store a mains extension lead with all the plugs.

antenna, this wooden frame looks beautiful! Is the bottem part (where the keyboard rests) also foldable?
I can't figure out from the photos how the modular rows are actually fixed to the wooden back. I see that the plastic round screw tops are sill present, and there seems to be something metal behind them. Did you simply screw into them from the back?

Thanks, it's such a dark oak stain but it's OK. There is a rosewood stain which would be really psychedelic but is a bit too much for me. The base board is fixed as is, 40cm wide, the keystep covering most of it. The space behind the keyboard is full of wires and essential storage for the plugs while moving. The synth bolts on to L brackets that are bolted for strength to the mounting boards, not screwed. I drilled the holes a smidgeon wider for the nuts and bolts. I had to countersink the brackets too. If I used smaller M4 nuts and bolts, no extra drilling would be required. but I wanted to be sure and went M5. Maybe M4 would be good. ...edit... Just to add more info about this, the dowels are 6mm and the drilled holes for them are 6mm in diameter, ideal for the 18mm thickness of the wood. I put plenty of dowels in and it's so solid, I could have done it with less. The sides are 20cm wide. I've got wood cut ready as an extension to add an additional single row above too, for 3 more modules and to add a bit of space, I like some blank spots around the place to break it up a bit ...final edit... It was a while ago I did the brackets, so just remembered a few useful details. I did have to drill the brackets a bit wider for the synth bolts to go through as well as the bolts, so I bought a 5.5mm drill bit, (for steel) to do that. For the dowel holes, I bought two 6mm drill bits. One pointed, to pierce the wood first to start off the holes, to get an accurate start while using the jig but then changing it to a normal one so the pointed bit doesn't go through the wood on the sides and for a more defined hole depth. The drill bits that came with my drill-driver were wobbly and just crumbled a lot. I just managed to countersink the brackets for the bolts before the countersink crumbled. If I wanted to strengthen the cabinet, I wouldn't glue it, I'd use more L brackets to screw it all tight. I still have the wood cut-outs from the sides, so could make a cover for the front which could buckle on...

Well here we are. This one has a slant towards live performance with the wonderful Teenage Engineering OPZ set to cover sequencer and drum duties. I await a couple of hinge kits and the Quantizer, all of which arrive this week.
