pt3r suggested a good idea the other day and I thought I'd see if there was interest from memory something like this has been talked about previously too so lets just get into it and have some fun. If we get 1 person great, if we get 1000 then awesome 1) First rule is there are no rules What's needed for this collab 2) Audio file: prefer a shortish sample. you can make the length guessing 5-10-15sec to give you an idea. you decide the tempo or no tempo see rule 1).......... Can you include other sounds apart from Ae yes see rule 1)
Can this be an old recorded piece yes see rule 1)
3) Video file : prefer similar length to your audio file
Do I really need to...no see rule 1)
the vid can be of your set up/playing/the dog throwing up an egg...... see rule 1) as long as its socially acceptable of course
4) photos? why not! just a couple if you prefer to send that
again can be of anything...your favourite plant or a bird atop a statue see rule 1)
5) is there a cut off date?: not yet will see if it gets going
6) all the audio will be joined together one after another to make a collab track. the Vid and photos will be fitted in on top of your audio as best I can.
7) once the collab is complete I will send a link of the work/vid so everyone can get a copy and do what they like with it.
Of course once you submit something you agree to the free use.
8) your audio files will not be changed/altered/mastered etc, maybe just to blend in with previous/next audio or change in volume so can be heard.
9) your photos/videos may be respectfully altered depending on how it all goes/blended etc but will try not too.
10) send me a file link or message the file privately as it would be cool if the end result is a surprise to everyone. I will always reply to your message so if I don't something hasn't reached me.
11) if in doubt see rule 1)
12) do I know what I'm doing or thought about this before posting....no....lets just see what happens

I've had a suggestion of doing layers instead of snippets which will be interesting.
The first person lays down a track, the next adds/changes it up etc.
If anyone is interested let me know what you prefer.
I'd do a poll but no idea how.

I'd do a poll but no idea how. cheers Doing layers may get complicated, we know how difficult it can be wiht just the 2 of us doing Beaucarnea; having said that no reason we can't have a bash but would humbly suggest we do both methods,  The original EC concept is to mash together complete segments I think, rather than combining?

Today I told my wife that I have to make a 10 second track for this exquisit corpse project and she told me that she'd been watching all these videos on YT where 3D artists are doing a similar thing.
Here is one example ... it's really cool stuff:

That is pretty incredible admin some people are so talented. Like us!! we have only 2,445 more artists to go to equal the above contribution  That means we have 3 so far for the EC collab which is an awesome start, 4 when I pull my finger out. And 1 so far for the layered Cake Track Also we have a title for the Exquisite Corpse Track which is "Aller Anfang ist schwer" which is a German saying meaning that "All beginnings are difficult" |

The Ae forum medley is coming along nicely with all the contributions so far set in place. I'm keeping each piece to about 20-25sec if that's ok as that seems to be the fit at the moment. We now have our third person working on the lAyers track so if you would like to be the fourth let me know and I'll send you the track once finished. For this collab you can pretty much do what you like over the top/in between/before/after of what has been done before you whether that be a long piece, random noises, cut it up and remix sure why not. add an ending or beginning, trigger it through pads to remix.... why the hell not. Whatever you feel the track needs really. For the Exquiste corpse collab it would be awesome if we got more collabs. Remember that every sound that comes out of the Ae is freakin awesome so we (especially me ) would love to hear your interpretation. It only needs to be 15 to 25sec worth and no need for a vid if you prefer as we can add that in. cheers |

I'm interested! Tell me more. I may have confused things a little  . lAeyers is the alter ego of the Corpse idea which I am really keen to see how it ends up. Its opposite to Corpse and it's pretty much everyone adding to the same file to build up a collab track. Each person will receive the audio file and add to it. you can do anything to it just so long as you can hear the previous bits in some way and there is room for other people to add their bits after. Of course you can also split the file and add something completely different in the middle/breaks/endings/beginning/over the top /underneath/upside down etc etc etc Don't really want to put any rules to it. so far pt3r has provided the base lAeyer, I've added some small sounds, now pol is currently working on his bit and then hopefully admin |

For LAeyers as pol mentioned he has submitted his bit and admin is currently working on his bit. After that it is of course open to any offers. |

A 15-25 second piece is all that is needed. If you don't want/unable to provide an accompanying video that's cool as one can be provided.
