Hello,
To be able to take it with me on the road I switch back to my travel case instead of the monster one. I'm planning to keep this patch until the end of the summer so I can know it as much as possible to be able to perform a set in the end of summer party with it.Β
The basic of the patch:
- grain (kick 909), kick, and drumkit into a TBD with only effect presets.
- Wonkystuff drum (mix of audio out and noise output into lpg) mixed with the audio of the rbss outputs (one left one right) into cirrus
- One TBD with only synth voice preset into the multi effect module
- Envelop follower is getting external audio and sending it to the TBD (effect) and into the cirrus
The external audio been: Bastl microgranny for voices into Roland T8 (only bass was used here with way too much distortion) into the mini kaoss pad for added effects. I fond out after recording that the koas pad is bringing the hum noise so now it's gone from the box. I might replace it with a guitar preamp...
It's literally the first jam with this patch and haven't even changed any program from the TBDs... Also forgot my phone tripod so only tweaking with one hand and getting confused and distracting with the phone in the other hand.

Hahaha this has some crazy lofi afrobeat going. Trippy stuff. Who knew the AE could bring them summer vibes.

This had some serious MBM vibes going dues to the bleeps and the video footage.

We couldn't arrange the party before December. After jamming with it this summer I wasn't happy with the patch and the set-up. Therefore I repatched the monster case. I also finished the video setup as I will be the only vj for the entire happening. Here is the setup: www.instagram.com/tv/CkTCvA7P40O/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_linkIf anyone from this forum in Helsinki beginning of December PM meπ

A video showing what I'm up to. For voices I use 2 TBD, kastle normal & drum.

I changed the presets in both TBDs. I used in each the same wavetable app and different effects on each preset. The 2 TBD are 2 octaves apart.
Started to slow so didn't really felt it at the beginning. Anyway, still a month to get this patch and my skills ready before my first fully ae modular/vj gig... Better sequences, less side chain and smoother transitions needed.
Any feedback are welcome πβοΈ

Really like the visuals.
There a a couple of places where the timing slips but overall I wouldn't be worried for a live gig, and a lurching and/or sudden transition can be good too! There were a couple of times where I would have liked more variation but live it will be very different I'm sure. Love the bit from about 20 minutes to 22 minutes, and the build up for the ending
Look forward to hearing how the the gig went
Pol.

Thanks for taking the time to listen to it and give feedback. Now, I am happy with the type of sounds I could get so I can focus on sequences and transition. Listening to it again and like you there are definitely many places I'm wondering what I'm waiting for to tweak something π
. I'm at the stage where I'm really happy about it and feel like I will kill it but two minutes later totally ashamed and wondering if I would be even close to be listenable... Been gigging for over 20 years on bass but haven't felt this kind of anxiety before. Or at least not that much. Anyway, practice consistently with predefined goals is the only way to bring the best in any case, at least for me (my super better approach of this if anyone familiar with this π
π).
Next jam Saturday with sequencer as focus. After transition and so on...

Pol.
I have a problem with the topograph. I like to use the switch to change between the topograph triggering the kick and a 4/4 from the clock module. However, last time I change the setting of the topograph I didn't remove the CV input and it got frozen with the high-hat trigger full or none and nothing in between. After letting it cool down for a day it works again but in parallel with the 4/4 like a doted 16th behind it. Depending when I switched between the two you can notice... Trying to get it setup again but might have to switch it with my other topograph.

Interesting, I have sometimes found the Ae's timing isn't tight enough for my liking, and one of them has been the topograph - if I knew anything about electonics I might think you have fried something!. Good you are pushing out of your comfort zone by gigging in a different way, enjoy the process

The date has gone pretty well considering it was a first in so many things. Two small AE Modular set during the night and VJing for the entire happening.
Here is the end part of my first set to open the night. I realise after almost half an hour that I didn't center the camera properly π.
I have recorded most of the evening so will put more on YouTube... We all went a long way to prepare this and it definitely gave us a lot to learn.
