i just finished coding a website to help you if you've got patcher's block. ( click here) pressing the "?" in the top right will explain how it works (it's a bit clunky on mobile, but it kinda works). i don't actually have ae modules (yet), so you'll have to tell me how it goes please give me feedback/tell me about any changes you would like made. i hope somebody finds this useful/fun! enjoy

This is really cool, thank you. I have tested the selection of modules, downloaded and uploaded the presaved module file and run through the Starter suggestions and instruction. Works great, nice job.
Will enjoy experimenting with this.

Hello timothyjackman, This is a fantastic project, I love it! A few suggestions: * Maybe put in some pre-configured system configurations, eg. Starter 1 and Starter 2. * Maybe put in a button to select all modules (some of us have big systems with all the modules) * Allow to upload a save file from grid.aemodular.com because a lot of people are using that to plan their systems, so they would already have that file which contains all their modules. * You are right in that some modules aren't that interesting to patch, eg. Mixers, Master, Power ... maybe just ignore those and don't offer them for selection. * Have a button that resets the suggestions without clearing the module selection. * The layout on a desktop has a lot of space on the right for the suggestions, but the modules look cramped and wrap around. Maybe allow a but more space for the modules. All nice to haves and nit-picking, it's already great as it is. Thank you for this interesting contribution to the AE Modular community.

great suggestions admin ! i think the clear button in the bottom right does what you mentioned in the fifth suggestion, unless i misinterpreted. other than that, i will get on coding the others as soon as possible.

next step describe which out of which module should be patched to which in on which module. But for that you would probably need to define what the ins and outs are of each module.

But for that you would probably need to define what the ins and outs are of each module. i thought about this but a. that feels a bit too limiting and b. there’s no way i’m creating a list of all the ins and outs of each module if anyone really wants specific patching instructions they can pull out an 8 sided die and use that instead!

new quick little update! - as per admin 's request i have added starter rack one, starter rack two, and select all buttons (pressing the select all a second time deselects all) - added cookies! this means that when you close out of the page it will remember your selections from before! - fixed a few bugs that i discovered i tried to add compatibility with the grid.aemodular.com json files but they were a bit much for my skill level i hope the other features make it a little easier to use though!

Thank you for the additions, that makes it instantly so much more usable especially for beginners who will most often start with one of the starter systems.
I've clicked a few times and found a few nice patch challenges:
BASE YOUR PATCH AROUND SAMPLE & HOLD, BUT DO NOT USE NOISE
BASE YOUR PATCH AROUND NOISE, BUT DO NOT USE 2VCA
BASE YOUR PATCH AROUND 2OSC/d, BUT DO NOT USE 2ENV
