hello everyone. please can anyone help me . is it possible to get the the qvca to open |close an envelope module.justlike you can with the ae vca. thankyou all in advance for your help
The env opens the qvca not the other way around. The envelope sends out a voltage in a pre-configured way with a certain rampup and a rampdown time (depending on the envelop type whether it's an A/D envelope or and ADSR or ...) this voltage controls how the (q)vca opens up.
other than than I would suggest trying to recreate a sound you already know, rather than just saying "I'm going to do a new patch". If you have a patch on another synth that you really like, try and emulate it, or real world sounds - instruments or not. Bird calls is quite a fun one!
Is a tricky module at first glance, once you get your head around where to put the audio in vs the envelope in then will become easier to patch. The video that admin has linked is as usual perfect to start with.
If still unclear then start with a simple sound source and a triggering envelope out, making sure you know it produces sound through a normal VCA and then seeing what the different sections of the qvca does to that sound.
an example is to patch the sound source to the bottom left of the qvca and the triggered envelope to the corresponding number in the top left. Then patch the corresponding bottom right to the mixer/etc.
