I came across this early recordings I made in 2016 pre modular. I could actually listen to them without getting too disappointed. conivm.bandcamp.com/album/conivm

Nice stuff indeed! I'll play this game, before I clean my bandcamp up, which is probably a job for the new year... Two from me - glap baan, which was my first album proper, which I returned to last year when it hit ten years old. It's rough and ready, very modular based - I was using eurorack back then. therapyinterferingbehaviour.bandcamp.com/album/glap-baan-2010-remasteredThe other one I'll post is something I did a few years ago, that was more traditional in approach - songs on real instruments. Who knew? My wife accused me of not being a musician, so I made a pop album which in the end I never played her... her loss! I'm proud of it though, some parts more than others. therapyinterferingbehaviour.bandcamp.com/album/hostages

Wow that pop album is indeed not bad at all, funny way to prove you're a musician. Great singing as well. The glap baan is also nice a bit more mainstream than you're latest releases perhaps? But perhaps you did not have all the modules needed to create the music you make today? Building a Eurorack system without a vision is a money incinerator (mylarmelodies).

Wow that pop album is indeed not bad at all, funny way to prove you're a musician. Great singing as well. Thank you! Sometimes you have to give people what they expect... or in my case withhold it! Madness, though truth be told I've always been a frustrated songwriter, so it was good to pull something together in that format. I followed it up with a modular based pop album too funnily enough - reworked a load of old modular sketches into songs. Since then... nothing! The glap baan is also nice a bit more mainstream than you're latest releases perhaps? But perhaps you did not have all the modules needed to create the music you make today? Building a Eurorack system without a vision is a money incinerator (mylarmelodies). Yeah, probably more mainstream - just marks the start of a journey really. Back then I was sequencing things externally lots, whereas I'm more focussed on in the rack with whatever I'm using these days, and texture has become more forward at the expense of rhythm... and structure has gone out of the window. My euro experience was somewhat shortlived - I lucked into a bugbrand system and realized I much preferred the single manufacturer approach, ended up selling the remaining euro I had to help fund other single manufacturer systems, which is how I ended up here!

Finally got to listen to these properly. great music as usual.
Not sure why but throughout CONIVM I could imagine Beth Gibbons from Portishead singing over the top of it. I think that's a good thing, was really cool.
Also I'm a sucker for singer songwriters. especially the little guys. might be the hop tea talking but so many life experiences can be shared and related to and you don't need to be the greatest singer or greatest musician or best whatever to do that. Anyway yours was good! I'm a fan of The Hostages and I'll be adding that to my collection.
Thanks for sharing

I enjoyed the process and was relatively happy with the results, probably more so because writing (words) was something I've struggled with for years. There's a weird offshoot of this too called 'the recapture' - I'll post a link below. I dusted off the monomachine and reworked a handful of these songs into something different... slightly crackers but fun! I'll figure out a way to pass both on for free if you ping me a message here... therapyinterferingbehaviour.bandcamp.com/album/the-recapture-ep

tIB Ah I was wondering the difference between those 2 albums. Thought it was a remastering or something. Listened to the first bit, sounds pretty cool actually. Cheers for the free offer, always happy though to spend a few dollars for someone's creation.

Cheers for the free offer, always happy though to spend a few dollars for someone's creation. In an ideal world I'd include the recapture as a bonus with the hostages release, though I couldn't find a simple way of doing that while still making it available. If it isn't already I'll mark it as a free download. It's a bit of an oddity but I quite like it.
