Any love for DNB and Jungle? Some of my absolute favorites:
Saw these guys live in Brussels, so loud, so deep.
Saw this guy on Pukkelpop

DNB and Jungle always remind me of Ali G in da house movie. Just loving the vibe.
One who come to mind is this one from Le peuple de l'herbe which is the only band that I genuinely enjoy all their album from start to end since over 20 years.

Ha i saw Le Peuple de l'Herbe Live as well, and the Massilia Soundsystem. Great concerts, they held a pastis break halfway the concert and passed plates of pastis around along with the funny cigarettes. Great memories.

I never went/go to concerts without ear protection. I remember when I saw Atari Teenage riot live in some small venu in the Falnders fields. That was by far the loudest concerts I 've ever been to. Every 909/808 kick seemed to drive the earplugs deeper in my skull and the sound waves could be felt in your gut, yet there we still some guys standing front row without ear protection digging their heads in the sub bins. Mental nutters.
This video comes close to that experience.

I like Atari Teenage Riot but can't listen to more than one song at a time, can't imagine going to a concert. Would have rocked though.
Hearing protection? that's smart.

ATR is probably more the music that matches teenage angst, can't imagine I would not be able to listen to a full album today, or go to a concert.

I'd forgotten about ATR, I think they came along just as my ears started preferring more melodic music rather than aural assault, (Cabaret Voltaire and Throbbing Gristle were my favourite bands for a while). ATR really were Punk for the next generation though...

I was always the one up up by the speakers at Tangerine Dream concerts, think why I'm almost deaf in one ear now.... bass vibrating your ribcage is an amazing experience,

I was participating in the rave scene of the mid to late 90s in the DC and Baltimore area. Jungle was awesome in those days and we would get the UK guys coming over and just destroying it. Then it started getting faster and faster and darker and darker and I eventually lost interest. Recently I got the Chase&Status Fabric mix and it is absolutely amazing. The track selection and mixing are wonderful and they really capture that energy in a current way. Definitely get your hands on it. You can hear the full mix here, though I bought it on iTunes and cd.

I was always the one up up by the speakers at Tangerine Dream concerts, think why I'm almost deaf in one ear now.... bass vibrating your ribcage is an amazing experience,ย The most bass I ever experienced was at a Kraftwerk concert at the 9:30 club in DC. At one point my vision got blurry and I realized it was because the bass was vibrating my eyeballs in my skull. It was sick. Otherwise the most bass I ever felt was in the basement room of Tresor in Berlin. So yeah, Germans lol. I donโt really go out now and I do have some hearing damage from an infection as a kid and a loud sound close to my ears some years later (not at a party). My hearing is pretty decent but yeah definitely protect your ears. Btw I read a story about the metalheadz guys at Berghain and at one point one of the bass bins caught fire because the metal inside had melted from all the bass. Now thatโs some fuckin bass, this time by way of collab between the English and the Germans :-)

That was pretty cool. Do I hear some influences for 101 early releases in this also just reminded me of Wavrunnr's (not sure of his forum ID) recent jungle releases Hope it is ok to post these on here on behalf of his, they are pretty cool too.

Drum and Bass? Drill and Bass?? No idea, but I very much love this โ somewhat more frenetic than Photek The three minute, music free intro just adds to the vibe โ gotta love Chris Cunningham!

Hah, probably maydonpoliris! It was always my intention to be able to create 2 clocks on my rig. One for fast percussive breaks and another for slow meandering melodies. That's probably a bit formularised, but I don't care really. It's such good fun

Quite like jungle, especially when they go loose on the cut-up breaks (like some of the crazier Aphex records). Never got into popular D&B, especially the drum sounds feel so 'over the top' and intense to me (the snare specifically), didn't get into Chase & Status, Netsky,.. The big ones. For me its a bit like with dubstep: i like the oldschool 'deep' approach from UK greats like Mala, I very much dislike the 'AS LOUD AS POSSIBLE flavor' (often called brostep ) from the likes of Skrillex. This track has been a top 5 fav electronic track for the last years, probably everybody heard it by now, some might even got tired of it, but for me its timeless.. Still gives me real physical shivers down my spine in the right setting. Their live-set at printworks is also an incredible must-watch on youtube. Lots of synthesizer goodness. Favorite 'acid jungle' track: everyoneonacid.bandcamp.com/track/oofAnd then there have been some superpopular break-infused tracks at techno parties, like this one: Like thats a jaw-dropper in my opinion, first time you hear it blast out of a huge soundsystem. How it goes from breaks into stomping territory, the great stabs and vocal on top, yum. It was this track that people around you, who didn't know it yet, instantly turn around and go like 'WOW?! YOU KNOW THIS TRACK???'. By the end of the year, everybody knew Few more of my recent favs: Moodrich - The Dome : good vibes, not too heavy, nice breaks. My feel good anthem when biking. Anz - Last before the lights: Great mix of vibey techno and modern jungle. Including a classic vocal, some deeeeeep rumbling bass sounds, some sparce parts. Heavy at some points, light at some other. A real trip in 6 min. Partiboi 69 - no place like home : So vibey, hilarious clip as well. Probably gets closest to modern, more 'deep' drum n bass

Yes!!!! Mmmm, that Skream, Benga, Mala, Kode9,... era. I was too young to live it, but I listened to so much Hyperdub compilations when i was 20 My absolute favorite, not a very original one, but well... I sometimes play this in the middle of a techno set and the reaction is always WILD. The rhythms are just so good, the bass so deep..
