Hello, I have a very small issue with my Algrodrone. Mainly for the attention of robertlanger , but I thought I'd post it up on the forum in case anyone has encountered the same issue. The algorithm-select knob on my new Algodrone, purchased from Juno, will only let me scroll downwards through the algorithms, not upwards. Occasionally I can get it to nudge up one or two by scrolling quite fast, but it isn't reliable enough to be particularly useful. I assume this is an issue with the knob component and/or its connections, some of which look a bit irregular to me. I took some close-up photos of the component, can anyone advise if there is an obvious issue here (and ideally an obvious solution!) that would cause the problem? Many thanks! Attachments:

to me ( and i’m no expert ) it looks possible that the pin next to the MS writing is cold soldered PLUS the leg next to that does look cracked at the upper bend!! it’s possible a reheat/resolder of the pin base and soldering that leg where it looks cracked COULD solve it?? hopefully some others or even Robert will chime in and express an opinion.

Agreed, that one pin looks definitely cracked, and that joint could use some reflowing.

This. The cold soldered pin looks like a repair too - best bet since it's new is probably to let Juno handle it and send you another, unless you're happy to play yourself.

Thanks all, that sounds about right. Have contacted Juno. Part of me wanted to try and fix it myself, but knowing my luck I'd end up turning a mostly-working module I can return into a non-working module I can't return...

I ended up not returning the module to Juno in December and accepting a partial refund instead (I was worried it would get lost in the flurry of Christmas post and they couldn't guarantee a repair or refund until they'd assessed it).
This week I finally got my new soldering station set-up, and I gave those cracked and cold soldered joints a bit of fresh solder, took about a minute. Now the Algodrone is happily scrolling up and down, good as new.
Thanks for the advice folks! Good instincts.
