VCV Rack 2 was released today: vcvrack.com/news/2021-11-30-Rack-2-releasedThere is a free version (open source) and a paid version which contains a VST2 plugin. The server is quite busy right now. I get a lot of "timeout" errors when I try to log in. So I was not yet able to test the new version.

Hope its a bit more optimised - the original version really wanted to kill my computer
It's definitely a fantastic and useful project but I do find it a bit overwhelming!

Hope its a bit more optimised - the original version really wanted to kill my computer It's definitely a fantastic and useful project but I do find it a bit overwhelming! Hi ampersands! Im new on here so I haven’t really read enough to get a sense of how many folks in the AE community use VCV Rack. I’m curious. I absolutely LOVE VCV Rack myself. It’s the thing that got me into modular in the first place. I used it for about 2 years before I started buying hardware. You’re right that it does need a fair amount of resources on the computer. My experience is that the most important thing for performance is to use a computer with a dedicated graphics card. Or if the computer has both an integrated graphics as in a laptop, then to make sure that VCV Rack uses the extra dedicated card, like NVidea for example. Now that I do have some hardware (AE, Moog Subharmonicon and DFAM) I can use those with VCV Rack and my DAW by connecting everything up with an ES-9 from Expert Sleepers and the 4I/O modules from AE. I’ve been doing that for about 3 months now and having tons of fun. So glad to meet another VCV Rack enthusiast on here. Keep beeping! Jeff
