How are you all using the Trip / MM-Div modules?
I don't currently have the Drum module(but may rig up my own ae modular sampler in the near future) but besides triggering samples and drums what other ways have you discovered to use them?
I guess the larger question is what role do triggers play in your workflow?
Thanks!
Edit: The way I phrased my question on triggers above was WAY too broad, I guess what i wanted to know is how you all are using modules like the trip and MM-div in your workflow.

My workflow is all about triggers, hence the AEclidian beat divider being the backbone of 95% of my patches.

Ha! I just found the "Gate time" knob at the bottom of the Trip and it's starting to make more sense. Those triggers out become gates out!

I have only just got my Trip, and have not used it much yet. It does what I bought it for, which is the "delay" effect with triggers, quite handy for percussion fills etc. The gate time is quite handy when doing this with bass. I have tried it on CVs as suggested on the Wiki page but haven't really made that "musical" yet.... wiki.aemodular.com/pmwiki.php/AeManual/TRIPMaybe some posts from here will help the Patch suggestions there. I too would like to know what people have got up to with it, as it, like most AE modules, is deeper than it first appears,

I often use the (discontinued) divider more than the MM Divider, mostly as I'm more used to it and it's so quick and easy. Having said that I have used the MM a couple of times in the usual way; using the same clock as the drums the divider's triggers are great for sequencer, bass &/or further percussion. With the MM Divider it's often worth scrolling through the different "division modes" to see what syncopation comes out by accident, especially with a bass sequence..... The MM Divider really wins over the beat divider for 2 reasons for me; the multiple triggers and the "division modes", really should use it more

Trip has replaced my Topograph (still love the Topo but space made me decide) and use it as a starting point to all my patches. Its easier to build on especially with the visuals.
Introducing a second one to my set up has been my favourite thing now to trigger the second using the first.
Works well using a second one along with Logic module to trigger envelopes more randomly.
And also it has been cool to clock/trigger external synths like the volca modular/0coast/circuit mono station.

I use MM as both a beat divider and trigger source. In other words I often use the MM Divider as my trigger "sequencer." In fact I use both BEAT Divider and MM Divider. Let's see: MM Divider- I usually sum the triggers via Polamix to achieve complex polyrhythmic patterns to drive a filter or cv on an oscillator, especially in prime number and Fibonacci mode.
- I also use the individual triggers to trigger my sample and hold modules. From there the S&H will control a filter, low-pass gate or something.
- I also like inverting the signal from the S&H or the MM, BEAT or TRIP via the 2CVTOOL. That adds even more rhythmic variation.
BEAT Divider- I primarily use this as a 2 against three on the fastest setting. This makes for a nice hemiola.
- Whatever the division, I use the triggers to trigger the CV on a oscillators, filters or waveshaper
TRIP- I use this mostly as a trigger delay.
- I'll have two sequencers playing exactly the same melody, but the trigger delay allows me to play the second melody just slightly behind or ahead of the first sequencer. This achieves the classic Steve Reich phasing effect.
- I use the other seven triggers the same as listed above in this article.
- TRIP is capable of so much more, I'm still exploring it. It's almost like a trigger sequencer, trigger delay, accelerator, bouncy ball, random trigger generator, gate generator all in one. It's a true trigger/gate processor.

Here is my attempt at a bouncing ball patch using only SEQ8, 2ENV and 2VCA as the modules in the bouncing mechanism. No beat dividers or Trips were needed.
I'm quite chuffed with this patch, proving that a Starterrack can do a lot.

Some really great suggestions here. I think where i got stuck is that in output mode 1, all the triggers are simultaneously present in the 1st output and it would quickly stop acting as a trigger. I just changed it to output mode 3 where it acts something a delay shift register and I'm slowly working through all the suggestions above and discovering some new things to do with it. What a little utility onion of a module! The next place to experiement for me is turning on the extended delay time mode and to do something super slow moving.

I tripped my MM DIV unintentionally. For a short burst DIV out were going to TRIP, then MM33 or XMIX for some summing, and then into Kastle Drum, Kastle, or Core A, my only OSC modules atm. Kastle FEED out goes neg also, and could have cause a BAD TRIP to MM DIV by feedback to the outs...
I read MM DIV acts a bit like MATH in that it can subdivide an OSC waveform to SUB OSC, all audio rate... I want to experiment a bit with Sub osc when it comes back online...

My favourite mmdiv trick is to put it in binary mode (full gate out), send outs of choice to a 4att/mix and make wonky sequences.
