This is really the first basic requirement, but since that is handled by the controller, the MIDI-CV interface really “just” needs to be multichannel and offer a way to assign MIDI channels 1-4 to individual pitch CV and gate outputs. However, for true MPE, pitch bend up to +/-48 semitones, velocity, aftertouch and CC74 would be required. Pitchbend +/-48 semitones it not possible though, because on AE modular we just have 5V, so 5 octaves maximum (probably just 4 precisely). So +/- 24 semitones. This is usually configureable on the controller, so it wouldn’t be much of a limitation at all.

Regarding the thread title: I’m a fan of the CV.OCD myself. Great value for money and deeply configurable

In fact, an advanced MIDI-to-CV module is quite high in my priority list […] What are your ideas / wishes? It's the perfect moment now to discuss this As I use Vermona qMI 2 for that in Eurorack, I think - 4 channels is okay
- 4*two instead of only 4*one additional CV-Out would be nice (fx ModWheel + Aftertouch)
- I do not need Polyphony, but thats just me ;-)
It would be an instant buy ;-)

In fact, an advanced MIDI-to-CV module is quite high in my priority list; I'd estimate it to be available first quarter of 2022. The plan is as following: - Basically a 4-channel module - Either 4-voice poly or separate midi channels as "mono-CV" - configurable root note(s) - 4 additional CV channels for velocity or MIDI controllers - a Breakout module for additional CV / gate channels / more controllers What are your ideas / wishes? It's the perfect moment now to discuss this What I like on AE Modular is the simple and brilliant way how it is design. For monophonic use with a Mid icontroller the implementation on the master module is a solution similar to a lot of Eurorack solution!
I am only missing the possibility to select one of the 16 Midi channels, which could be done in binary by means of 4 DIP switches or jumpers (1/2/4/8 +1). In addition the information of pitch-bend, modulation-wheel, velocity, (after touch) and sustain, which most of keyboards/synth/controller are sending as standard should be access able by dedicated outputs! It should be possible to use the haptic capability of the keyboards/synth/controller in a simple way with AE modular synths like plug and play!
The idea of the Bus Ctrl generally is ok to reduce wires, but CC20 has no function at midi standard and therefore it could not be configured at most of keyboards/synth/controller. To take one of the standards (e.g. pitch bend) per default or make it patchable to one of the above mentioned outputs could be a more useful solution.
Based on the new midi modules from Wonkystuff it would be nice to have a midi output (AE internal) or better a midi through (external)!
For complex setups Wonkystuff solution will become a good extention! For starter racks a revision of master module with additional possibilities I would prefer!

Thanks a lot for the suggestions - this is super helpful for us and will find it's way into the development! And, be sure, a lot of stuff is in the pipe regarding MIDI integration, polyphony / multichannel, MIDI-to-CV...
