Did you migrate to Big Sur? Does the Arduino environment work under big sur? I have been keeping the boat of when the first issues where reported with arduino ad macOS latest os. However I can' keep postponing the upgrade but I don't want to jeopardize all my Arduino code.
BTW i don't need any Apple is overpriced blabllablabla Windoze is much better responses, 'cause we all know that Linux is the only trve os , if only Ableton had a Linux version...

So far (in my minimal experience) the 1.8 version of the Arduino IDE seems to be working well for me , but I did have some problems when trying out the new 2.0 IDE and switched back to 1.8 and they went away. (using a m1 mac mini, Big Sur 11.15.1).

I'll likely be giving this a try sometime this week or weekend on an M1 mini with my grains module. I can report in and if there are problems see if I can troubleshoot.

Okay, I was able to compile and load new firmware into my Grains with no problems on an M1 Mac Mini with Big Sur and the 1.18.15 Arduino IDE.
I was able to compile and upload the RZ1 drums sketch on the 2.0 beta IDE too, although I haven't tried to do anything more complicated than that. I do get a little yellow ! sign when I select the board and serial port (it shows up as "Arduino Nano at /dev/cu.usbserial-22430" for me) but that doesn't seem to stop it from working.
