Finally was able to purchase the Solina module from Juno and it arrived this morning. OH MY GOD! I have a Waldorf Streichfett which is pretty good but this module just sounds wonderful, especially with ensemble mode turned up, got me patching away immediately....

At first I was petty excited about the SOLINA aswell, and it turn out was didn't knew how to use it and tune it. Now that I've learn how the controls works it is indeed a great module, it sounds really really really great!

This one has been on my wishlist for a long time and I have some Juno credit. Maybe it's time...

This one has been on my wishlist for a long time and I have some Juno credit. Maybe it's time... As Nike says, just do it! I did wait as had to get new case for my AE amongst other things, and wasn't really necessary for my studio as a whole, but then I don't need any new rear really.....

What an amazing feedback - especially to hear it can exist besides of Streichfett, wow! They aren't really the same thing but both are "string machines". The Streichfett has a wider range of sound (and patch memories), but the Solina has a nicer sound, and very full one with ensemble mode and, to me, sounds a bit more "70s" which is really good when trying to do mid period TD impressions etc.....

No space for it until the second rack arrives! But i'll certainly be watching the Juno stock levels closely...

I also own the Streichfett besides the Solina, string gang!
To my feeling, Streichfett has less character, as it seems to really try hard and emulate a 'true' (albeit cheesy) string sound. However, I do love the Streichfett and how it can shift from shorter keyboard notes into full-blown ensemble strings.
Solina sounds more interesting to my ears, a more distinct sound, more crunch and character. Def one of my favorite AE modules. But also a bit harder to handle to program chord sequences (I can control the Streichfett just over MIDI notes from my Digitakt).
